🥃🎁 I CELEBRATE A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY ... 🎄🥃
Red and green? Neat, but have you seen how much a silver tree sparkles?
Egg nog? Sure, but have you enjoyed a great dram
scotch with a friend instead?
Peppy Christmas songs? Great, but have you heard Bob Schneider's super chill holiday album?

I obviously love to do things a little differently most of the time, and especially around the holidays. So I’ll leave the egg nog to y’all (too many calories and too much fuss) and I’ll pour myself (and my friends) a dram.

When my friend and I exchanged gifts, and I made sure to give her a taste of the bottle I gifted to her, Bruichladdich’s Classic Laddie. The tin is a gorgeous aqua that really looked lovely against my silver tree. (Gifts are, after all, decor until they’re given to the recipient!)

The scotch itself is a light, unpeated whisky made from sustainably sourced* 100% Scottish barley. I think that, as rich at the flavor is, it’s a beautifully approachable scotch. You’ll get a little nose of barley and orange, and then you’ll get some light baking spice flavors on the palate finished with a slight taste of malt and honey. The flavors are perfect for the the cooler months (but light enough for when it warms up).

🥃 Pour a Drink & Stay In 🥃⠀
With bars being closed, we’ve all been challenged to make our own cocktails. Some of us are looking for easy ways to make consistent cocktails at our home bar, and Dekuyper Cocktails Classic Ol’ Fashion Liqueur makes it as easy as one ☝🏼, two ✌🏼, … and they don’t even need a three.⠀

On a recent road trip, I took the bottle along so we didn’t have to bring all the ingredients for an Old Fashioned. Poured over ice and combined with Jim Beam Black, all I had to think about bringing along was the garnish! 🍊⠀

If you’re a fan of ice cream, booze, and Nutella ... I think you’ll LOVE this boozy milkshake I made y’all using Arctic Buzz Vodka Ice Cream!

It’s easy enough to throw this decadent dessert together, but if you want to make it LOOK a little more smashing, drizzle chocolate sauce on the inside of the glass before pouring the milkshake in, and paint the rim with slightly melted Nutella and sprinkle crushed pretzels and chocolate sprinkles over it before it hardens. (Works with Magic Shell, also!) And make sure to add the pinch of salt as it brightens the milkshake up a bit.

MILKSHAKE ...
2 C Arctic Buzz chocolate ice cream5 C cold milk
1 oz hazelnut liqueur (like Frangelico)
2 T malted milk powder
Pinch of sea salt
—
Mix the above ingredients in a blender. (Don’t blend too long as it’ll make it too liquidy.)
Top with whipped cream and crushed pretzels
Rim glass with Nutella and crushed pretzels

WHIPPED CREAM TOPPING (if you’re feeling extra extra) ... .75 C whipping cream, chilled25 T hazelnut liqueur .5 t vanilla bean paste

Combine and whip until soft peaks form. (Can also be done by shaking in a cocktail shaker with the spring from a strainer!)

As y'all probably saw ... I had a serious tiki tailgate party this past weekend. With all the sweet (and STRONG) tiki cocktails, I had to make sure I was going to be able to function Sunday, so I reached for a wee bottle of ReadyQ - Theracurmin.

Doing what I do, you can be sure that I've tried my fair share of hangover remedies. This one, amazingly, works. Yes, I've actually tried it twice myself and made my friends try it, and it has really helped. (... I do the hard work for y'all. You're welcome.)
