-- REDMOND CRAB CRACK is FEBRUARY 3rd, 2024 --
The 8th Annual Redmond Crab Crack Presented by Summit Bank is February 3rd, 2024 and we couldn't be more excited! A year's worth of preparation will come to fruition in what we hope will be a memorable and fun evening for you and your guests. Here are some tips for you - please share with anyone you think might be joining us as we do not have everyone's contact info. This is a snow, sleet, rain or shine event! Doors open at 4pm
Everyone who enters the tent MUST have a ticket - sorry, no exceptions. No strollers please
ID REQUIRED FOR THOSE OVER 21
No outside beverages of any kind
We will be in a tent so please dress appropriately - there are heaters but it is winter in Central Oregon so expect to see a lot of snow boots, warm coats, hats and scarves. Parking available in the City Hall Parking Lot and Redmond Proficiency Academy parking lot (Forest/Glacier & 7th Streets) - please be careful walking! Actual paper tickets are required for entry. At check-in you will be issued a Crab Crack wrist band and an "Over 21" wristband if you're over 21 and have your ID. Soda, water, beer, wine and hard alcohol will all be available for purchase at the event. You MUST BUY TICKETS for all alcohol-related beverages. Coffee/water/soda table is cash only. No cash will be taken at either of the bars (except tips which are much appreciated!). Drink tickets are $5/each One ticket = Beer/wine/cider. Two tickets = hard alcohol (please note: 2 separate bars - one for beer/wine/cider and one for hard alcohol). Soda, Coffee & Water available at 3rd beverage station ($2/each - cash - no ticket required).
***Cash is preferred for these ticket sales, however we will have an option to use credit cards . . . technology can be a challenge at outside events though so your patience is appreciated***
This year we are excited to offer a variety of beers from Wild Ride, Cascade Lakes, Columbia Distributing and others. When you go through the food line, your wrist band will be marked - you will go through this line once and be served a Big Ed's sourdough roll, mixed green salad, shrimp cocktail, lasagna, 1/2 crab and butter. We also have bibs and crab tools - though you are welcome to bring your own too. Once you are seated a variety of volunteers (we call these particular ones "Table Concierges") will be available to serve you more fresh, wonderful Dungeness crab as you want it. Your help is much appreciated as we want to be sure you get all the crab you can and want to eat, but we also don't want to waste any of these delicious morsels! Don't be shy letting us know if you're ready for more, but don't feel bad to tell us you've hit your limit too. As is the case with most all-you-can-eat events - we do not have enough seats if everyone comes at once - so your help making room for others is much appreciated - maybe you'll even get to know someone new! Around 5:30 our friends from Countryfied will begin our musical entertainment. We will have some bistro tables near the band for your visiting and socializing enjoyment after dinner. Crab will be served until 8:30pm. As always, we want you to be safe - a taxi to most places in Redmond will cost you less than $20. If you would like assistance arranging a taxi please let one of our "Crack Security" or other volunteers and we'll be glad to help. LAST, but definitely not least, we appreciate your support!! This event was designed to create an opportunity for our community to gather and enjoy each others company and some tasty crab but we're also looking forward to donating the proceeds toward funding the Business Liaison position for the Redmond-Area High School's Internship Program. Questions? Please call Angela at 541-410-2572 but keep in mind it will be difficult to take/return calls the day of the event.
