-- REDMOND CRAB CRACK is FEBRUARY 3rd, 2024 --

The 8th Annual Redmond Crab Crack Presented by Summit Bank is February 3rd, 2024 and we couldn't be more excited! A year's worth of preparation will come to fruition in what we hope will be a memorable and fun evening for you and your guests. Here are some tips for you - please share with anyone you think might be joining us as we do not have everyone's contact info. This is a snow, sleet, rain or shine event! Doors open at 4pm

Everyone who enters the tent MUST have a ticket - sorry, no exceptions. No strollers please
ID REQUIRED FOR THOSE OVER 21
No outside beverages of any kind

We will be in a tent so please dress appropriately - there are heaters but it is winter in Central Oregon so expect to see a lot of snow boots, warm coats, hats and scarves. Parking available in the City Hall Parking Lot and Redmond Proficiency Academy parking lot (Forest/Glacier & 7th Streets) - please be careful walking! Actual paper tickets are required for entry. At check-in you will be issued a Crab Crack wrist band and an "Over 21" wristband if you're over 21 and have your ID. Soda, water, beer, wine and hard alcohol will all be available for purchase at the event. You MUST BUY TICKETS for all alcohol-related beverages. Coffee/water/soda table is cash only. No cash will be taken at either of the bars (except tips which are much appreciated!). Drink tickets are $5/each One ticket = Beer/wine/cider. Two tickets = hard alcohol (please note: 2 separate bars - one for beer/wine/cider and one for hard alcohol). Soda, Coffee & Water available at 3rd beverage station ($2/each - cash - no ticket required).

***Cash is preferred for these ticket sales, however we will have an option to use credit cards . . . technology can be a challenge at outside events though so your patience is appreciated***

This year we are excited to offer a variety of beers from Wild Ride, Cascade Lakes, Columbia Distributing and others. When you go through the food line, your wrist band will be marked - you will go through this line once and be served a Big Ed's sourdough roll, mixed green salad, shrimp cocktail, lasagna, 1/2 crab and butter. We also have bibs and crab tools - though you are welcome to bring your own too. Once you are seated a variety of volunteers (we call these particular ones "Table Concierges") will be available to serve you more fresh, wonderful Dungeness crab as you want it. Your help is much appreciated as we want to be sure you get all the crab you can and want to eat, but we also don't want to waste any of these delicious morsels! Don't be shy letting us know if you're ready for more, but don't feel bad to tell us you've hit your limit too. As is the case with most all-you-can-eat events - we do not have enough seats if everyone comes at once - so your help making room for others is much appreciated - maybe you'll even get to know someone new! Around 5:30 our friends from Countryfied will begin our musical entertainment. We will have some bistro tables near the band for your visiting and socializing enjoyment after dinner. Crab will be served until 8:30pm. As always, we want you to be safe - a taxi to most places in Redmond will cost you less than $20. If you would like assistance arranging a taxi please let one of our "Crack Security" or other volunteers and we'll be glad to help. LAST, but definitely not least, we appreciate your support!! This event was designed to create an opportunity for our community to gather and enjoy each others company and some tasty crab but we're also looking forward to donating the proceeds toward funding the Business Liaison position for the Redmond-Area High School's Internship Program. Questions? Please call Angela at 541-410-2572 but keep in mind it will be difficult to take/return calls the day of the event.

And . . . it's happening! Thank you Greg and team from Elevation Tents! There's so much that happens behind he scene to make the REA Crab Crack Presented by Summit Bank happen. We are thankful for all our community partners! A special shout out to the Redmond Senior Center for helping us out with some storage space! Wild Ride jumped in to help us out with storing some of our supplies. Brian at Wild Ride also helps coordinate all our beer offerings as well. John Duff and Alliance Professionals provides us space in their storage unit each year, keeps track of our finances AND he heads up the Lasagna cooking too! Karen Sande has been hard at work getting all the Volunteers scheduled. Wendie Every heads up the gathering of more supplies as well as coordinating with The Printing Post for all our printing needs. Jason Lim will be back to head up the beer & wine set-up. Renee Powell is our shrimp cocktail and kitchen set-up guru. Bill Braly makes sure we will have lots of delicious melted butter for you - using Eberhard's salted butter just like Bob Eberhard himself got us started with 11 years ago. Can't leave out Steven Boothroyd as our electricity and power supply guy. Shoutout to Peterson Cat for the generator we need to help power Countryfied and their full set up. Starting tomorrow evening, volunteers will converge on the site and get set-up going. Saturday morning even more Crab Crack Supporters will complete the set-up. I'm sure I missed people - we are so fortunate to have such great support and it is all appreciated. See you Saturday! Doors open at 4pm.

You would be hard pressed to find a Builder with as strong of a reputation, as large of a footprint and (dare we make an educated guess) as many awards and accolades for their work as SunWest Builders. Based right here in Redmond, Steve Buettner and his team have left their mark on many iconic projects over the past 40+ years. We appreciate SunWest Builders for their continued support of the 10th Annual REA Crab Crack Presented by Summit Bank. SWB is another of our Founding Sponsors! Thanks Steve! (PSSSSST . . . Storm Water Services provide "one-stop shopping" for stormwater management. By offering design, construction, and maintenance in-house, Storm Water Services can better accommodate clients by minimizing their expenses. If you plan to attend the 10th Annual REA Crab Crack Presented by Summit Bank, SWS has also helped minimize your expense to attend - without our great Sponsors like SWS we would not be able to offer this delectable all-you-can-eat opportunity at such a low ticket price. Thank you SWS!!!
