Some food for thought on this Monday. Let's talk about reviews.

You've all heard that leaving a review is so important but do you ever go to a book's page on Amazon or Goodreads and think, "eh, I wouldn't say anything different than everyone else, so why bother?"

Here's the thing: Do you know that it's the overall number of reviews that matters the most? A ton of great reviews (and sales, of course) tells the publisher to invest in this author. On Amazon, reviews help Amazon decide who to include in their newsletters and emails. Reviews help booksellers decide who to stock in their store. Reviews lead to sales in ways you can't even imagine.

A reviews can be incredibly short (I liked it, I loved it!).

Reviews are IT, you guys. And you, as readers have the power. Leave a review today.

Happy Monday!

Regaining my health from a week in the hospital. Oozing up out of the depths of my memory, I'm suddenly humming this little ditty. (All you internet whizzes see if you can look up this song.)

It's cheerio, my dear-eo
Prance and pirouette
It's cheerio, my dear-eo
There's life in me yet

For those of you who might be a day or two over forty, we offer you this.

On the Vanity of Earthly Greatness

by Arthur Guiterman (1871-1943)

The tusks that clashed in mighty brawls
Of mastodons, are billiard balls.
The sword of Charlemagne the Just
Is ferric oxide, known as rust.
The grizzly bear whose potent hug
Was feared by all, is now a rug.
Great Caesar’s bust is on my shelf,
And I don’t feel so well myself.

We were just reminded of that fine piece of advice from Mark Twain: Go to Heaven - for the climate. Hell for the company.
