San Diego Folk Heritage

Website

San Diego Folk Heritage San Diego Folk Heritage is an all volunteer 501C3 non-profit organization dedicated to folk music. The Highland Games in Vista every summer.

San Diego Folk Heritage preserves and promotes folk music, storytelling, and dances in the greater San Diego area. We believe that the many traditions of our various cultures are important and that they must be preserved and passed on. Without a conscious effort to preserve these arts, they can easily be lost in the fast pace and noise of today's popular culture. We provide an opportunity for members of the community to see, hear, and take part in these activities. We meet these goals throughout the year by presenting a number of events through the year, including but not limited to:

Frequent folk music concerts by international and local entertainers held at either Pilgrim United Church in Carlsbad or Old Poway park. The Sam Hinton Folk Heritage and Train Song Festivals at Old Poway Park. Co-sponsor of the Sea Chantey Festival on board the Star of India. Weekly Contra Dances in North Park
