Many thanks to all who came to the taproom last night to see me off on my final evening behind the bar. It was great to see so many of the great friends I've made at the Abbey over the last 6 years.

Thanks also for the gifts. All are far more than I deserve but were appreciated and will be graciously used.

Special thanks to Roger Howard for marshaling the troops for the great turnout last night and for coordinating the gift certificate.

Finally, thanks to Jeff and Dana for the opportunity to work at one of the best breweries in country.

I hope to see you all again at the Abbey when I'm in front of the bar, or perhaps somewhere else down the road.

Ch...ch...ch...changes... (Sorry David Bowie)

Tomorrow, Thursday 8 February, will be Nick's last evening behind the bar, at least as the regular Thursday guy.

Because of that, the decision was made to close the taproom on Tuesdays so I can cover Thursdays.

Starting next week the taproom will be open Wednesday thru Saturday, and thus, closed Sunday thru Tuesday. Doors open at 3PM on Wednesday and Thursday, 1PM on Friday and Saturday.

Come see Nick tomorrow and wish him well.

I'm not quite at full speed with the new new knee but I think I can handle a few hours.

Got word from the boss that he put Delirium Noel on tap today. If you are not familiar with the Delirium beers they come from Brouwerij Huyghe in Melle, Belgium. It is a dark strong ale that comes in at 10% ABV, perfect for a cold winter night.

Drop by the taproom for one. It will definitely get you in the Christmas spirit.

Tomorrow (11/20) will be the last Monday the taproom will be open for a while.

I'm having what I hope is my last knee surgery the week after Thanksgiving, so this week will be my last behind the bar until mid- to late-January.

Come see me and grab some grunts or bottles to enhance Thursday's tryptophan mellow.

It's Chili and Cornbread Contest Day!

If you are bringing food please remember to bring any serving utensils needed for folks to help themselves to your food.

All entries must be in place by 4:45 so judging can start at 5.

No cost to taste and judge the entries. Doors open at 1PM.

Jeff Mason, aka Wee Jeff, returns to man the tap handles tonight and tomorrow.

Come see him and have a beer.

Doors open at 1 today and tomorrow.

Tomorrow (Saturday) you can see Mason and sample chili and cornbread. Tasting and voting for our Chili and cornbread contest starts at 5.
