This is one of my favorite details from Kara and Eric’s wedding.

Every menu was printed on seed paper, made to be planted by guests after the wedding. Vegetable seeds, ready to grow into something living long after the day was over. For a couple who cared so much about conservation, it felt right to turn the one piece of paper most weddings throw away into something that gives back.

The rest of the day-of paper carried the same intention, from custom watercolor table signs to a bar menu that pulled the whole ocean palette through to cocktail hour.

Custom design isn’t only about how something looks. Sometimes the most meaningful detail is what happens to the paper after.

One of the things I love most about day-of paper is how it carries a wedding’s design all the way through the day.

For Emily and Todd, that meant a welcome sign greeting guests as they arrived and table numbers waiting for them at their seats, all designed in the same soft palette as their invitation suite. Pale blue calligraphy on soft white paper, with floral accents pulled straight from their custom illustration work.

By the time guests sat down, every detail had been working together since the moment their invitation arrived. That’s what makes a wedding feel intentional. Nothing is an afterthought.

Sometimes the venue is too beautiful to leave off the invitation 🤍💙

This couple got married at the Carnegie Museum in the Hall of Sculpture, and if you’ve ever stood in that room you know it’s stunning.

So instead of just naming the venue, I illustrated the whole room and printed it on vellum to wrap around their suite. When guests opened the envelope, they got a little preview of where they’d be standing on the wedding day.

Custom illustrations like this are one of my favorite ways to make a suite feel like your wedding, not just a wedding.

Save this if you’re getting married somewhere meaningful and want it woven into your stationery

Emily and Joseph’s suite is one of my favorite kinds to design. Classic, refined, and built around really beautiful materials.

The star of the suite is the paper itself. Handmade with natural deckled edges, the kind that gives every piece an organic texture you can feel before you even read it. Paired with elegant typography and a small floral illustration capturing the blooms that meant the most to them, the whole suite feels timeless without feeling overdone.

Sometimes the most elegant design is also the simplest. Beautiful paper. Thoughtful typography. A few perfect details that make it theirs.

Cassie and Brad’s wedding suite was built around Phipps Conservatory.

A custom venue illustration anchored the invitation, surrounded by hand-painted florals in the warm, late-summer palette to match their day. Soft buttercream, dusty rose, deep burgundy, the kind of fall tones you only see at a botanical garden in September.

Every detail was chosen with their venue in mind. The illustration. The colors. The way the suite would feel in someone’s hands when they opened the envelope and got their first glimpse of the day to come.

This is what custom invitations are really for. Telling guests where they’re going, but also how it’s going to feel when they get there.

Kara and Eric’s wedding is one I still think about.

They wanted the ocean fully integrated, not just a color palette. So we built it into everything.

The seating chart greeted guests with a simple invitation to “find your seat and dive right in.” Place cards were hand written in gold calligraphy directly onto agate stones, one for every guest, set on deep navy napkins next to gold flatware. Every table was named after a dive site or marine location they loved.

This is the kind of work I love getting to do. When a couple comes to me with a real story and trusts me to weave it through every piece of paper, the whole wedding starts to feel like something only they could have had.

Custom wedding stationery, made in Pittsburgh.

I’m Alicia. I design invitations and day-of paper that feel unmistakably like the couple they belong to.

Your venue. Your pup. Your city. Your florals. Your story.

These are the details I turn into artwork your guests recognize and remember. The kind of paper guests pick up at their place setting and text you about later because they noticed.

Day of designs is where a wedding really comes together.

For Anna and Vince’s reception, sage green menus rested on every place setting. A vintage gold mirror held the seating chart in hand written calligraphy. Plus a signature drinks sign greeted guests at the bar.

Each piece was designed to feel like it had always belonged there.

This is the part of stationery couples don’t always think about when they first inquire, but it’s the part their guests remember.

If you’re planning your day of stationery, I’d love to talk. Inquiry link in bio.

From the beginning sketches and mockups to the final printed suite, every piece has a purpose. Custom design to me means nothing is by accident. It is built intentionally from start to finish.
