Allora, what an amazing journey this has been already!
We are so grateful to everyone for their love and support over the last several weeks, thank you doesn't seem to say enough, but "Thank you" 🙏

Tonight will be our last service.
No, we're not quitting, but we are starting one of our annual scheduled closures. We will be closed from Sept 6th to the 14th, and will reopen to the public on Tuesday September 15th at 5pm.

Then we will resume our regular schedule of Tuesday to Saturday, 5-9pm until December 23rd, our "Feast of the Seven Fishes", and then close for the holidays from December 24th to January 6th, and reopen to the public on Thursday January 7th.

We can't wait to share our next chapter with you all! 🫶

Allora will be closed today as our farm, and my lovely wife, will be doing the flowers for our dear friend’s wedding. We will be back tomorrow and we hope to see you soon.

At Allora, our Culinary Focus is on "Slow Food", the movement given structure by Carlo Petrini in 1986 and championed by one of my former employers, Antonio Magliulo. "Tony May", as he was known to all of us, wanted us all to slow down, savor the flavors of life, and share those moments with everyone we loved. He was a great man, on the Mount Rushmore of Italian Food in America, and deserves more credit than he currently gets for the state of Italian food in the US.

Allora, back in the "1900's", around the time I was (cringe) born, my mother won a newspaper recipe contest for her "Deep Dish Chicken Parmesan". So in that "Slow Food" tradition, we have reintroduced her version here at Allora not just as another homage to family and tradition, but because it was baked, not fried.

See, Allora has no fryer and never will. Because we want to present food that expresses the time and care it took to make it, just like the time and care that goes into who you share it with, and frankly, the time and care and work it took to make the money to pay for it. None of it is easy, but that's all the more reason we should sit down, take a deep breath, lose the stress of the day, and savor the flavor, the serenity, and the company we share it all with.

We are grateful for you all, and we look forward to hosting you soon! Oh, yeah, here's the Chicken Parm in progress... 👀

We had a few thoughtful requests for some additions to the Grill options so we are excited to add to the menu this week Veal Chop, Bone-in New York Strip, and a Poterhouse for two!

Allora, we wanted to share our gratitude for all the support we have received from so many of you, we are so grateful. 🙏

I also want to offer my apologies to some of you who have expressed your frustrations with not being able to get tables or reservations as of yet. We are working diligently to hire and train staff for the present and future of this restaurant. That process is not easy, especially opening in the peak of the season.

We intend to be here not for 10 days, or 10 weeks, but for 10 years and beyond. With that in mind, we are doing our best to provide our guests with the best possible experience that we can at this time. That means not taking more tables per night than we can handle.

We will not sacrifice that long-term success potential of our restaurant for a summer cash-grab that leaves diners disappointed and tarnishes the long-term reputation of Allora. I hope that our potential guests can understand our desire to make them the best possible experience and give us some grace and patience to make all our dreams come true.

We cannot wait to share our place, our food, our lives with all of you and I promise, we are working our butts off on making the restaurant you all want and deserve.

Wow! We are so grateful for all of the support on our first service last night! Thank you! 🫶 Reservations will be a little limited this week as we continue to acquire and train staff, but we aren't going anywhere and we look forward to sharing our space with you all some night soon.

We will be a little limited this week as we continue to hire and train service staff, but we will be open nightly from Tuesday to Saturday from 5pm to 9pm.

Here’s a fun Friday story to share. When you book reservations on Opentable, there’s a box where they ask you if you have any “special requests”. While the general manager of Barclay Prime in Philadelphia, a guest messaged in their reservation, “a framed picture of Captain John Luke Picard, in all his glory, at the table”. They just about fell over laughing when we seated them saying, “I have been putting that note in reservations for years, but this is the first time someone actually did the picture” 

We have so many more fun things to share with you. Hopefully, we can start that in a couple of weeks. 🤞🏻
