One of my favorite drinks from the trip was this really tasty Piña Colada!

There’s just something about a Piña Colada that feels like vacation in a glass. Creamy coconut, sweet tropical pineapple, plenty of ice, and that beautiful balance that makes you want to sit back and enjoy the view.

After all the cocktails we tried throughout Costa Rica, this one definitely stood out as a favorite. Sometimes you don’t need anything complicated — just a great tropical classic, a beautiful setting, and nowhere else you need to be.

I’d happily go back for another one!

Now this one is definitely a favorite — the Mogotes from Arenas Del Mar .

Made with gin, blackberry cordial, and lemon, this cocktail hits that perfect sweet-bitter balance while staying bright and refreshing. Exactly the kind of drink I want in my hand while sitting on the beach, watching the waves roll in and letting the rest of the world slow down for a while.

Fresh, fruity, citrusy, and incredibly easy to sip. Add the ocean view and I’m pretty sure this is what vacation cocktails are supposed to be.

Definitely one I’d happily have again.

I’m definitely not turning down a cocktail and ceviche class at Arenas Del Mar !

We got up to the bar and worked our way through some classics with Frainer — a New York Sour and Margarita. Then we got into some fun Costa Rican twists. The Costa Rican Daiquiri and Cacique Mai Tai brought a little local flavor to the lineup and were both a ton of fun to make and drink.

And then Andrey took us over to the next station and showed us how to put together an amazing mahi mahi ceviche. Fresh, bright, and absolutely delicious — the perfect pairing for all those cocktails.

Great drinks, great food, and a hands-on experience in one of the most beautiful places imaginable. Not a bad way to spend a day in Costa Rica!

Sometimes the cocktail is only half the experience — the view is the other half.

We’re enjoying this beautiful evening at Le Papillon Restaurante , watching the sun sink into the Pacific with a delicious margarita in hand. The ocean, the sunset, the tropical surroundings… and a perfectly frosty marg? Hard to imagine a better combination.

This is what vacation is all about: slowing down, taking in the view, and enjoying a great cocktail while you’re at it. Cheers to sunset sips!

Another beach day at Arenas Del Mar , another tasty cocktail!

After yesterday’s battle with the waves, I figured I’d play it a little safer today and keep my feet planted firmly on the beach — with a Pisco Sour in hand, of course.

Bright, refreshing, and beautifully balanced, the Pisco Sour is one of those cocktails that feels right at the beach. The citrus gives it a lively kick, while the pisco brings a smooth, distinctive character that makes every sip a little more interesting.

Sunshine, ocean views, and a great cocktail in hand… I could definitely get used to this Costa Rican routine. Cheers to another day of beach mode!

We made it to Costa Rica, and beach mode has officially been activated!

We’re at Arenas Del Mar , enjoying their beautiful private beach — although the ocean was definitely putting up a fight. Let’s just say I may have learned the hard way that those waves mean business. A few scrapes and bruises later, I figured the best medicine was a cocktail.

Enter the Chilcano — a refreshing Peruvian highball made with pisco, fresh lemon, a hint of ginger, and soda water. Bright, crisp, and incredibly refreshing… exactly what I needed after battling the waves.

Beach bruises aside, Costa Rica is already off to a fantastic start. Cheers to sunshine, surf, and cocktails that help you recover!

How about another tasty breakfast cocktail?

We’re on vacation, so apparently breakfast cocktails are fair game — and this Mezcal & Cranberry featuring Dady’O Mezcal was a delicious way to start the day. The smoky, earthy mezcal pairs beautifully with the bright tartness of cranberry, creating a cocktail that’s refreshing, vibrant, and just a little bit bold.

Because vacation rules are simple: if there’s a good cocktail on the menu, it counts as breakfast.

Cheers to another day of vacation sipping!

Day 1 of vacation, and we’re getting things started the right way — with a smoky espresso martini!

Featuring Dady’O Mezcal , this is my kind of vacation kickoff. The rich espresso brings the bold coffee flavor, while the mezcal adds that beautiful smoky depth that makes this classic feel completely different. Smooth, boozy, caffeinated, and just a little bit dangerous.

If this is how Day 1 starts, I have a feeling this is going to be a very good vacation. Cheers!

Who’s up for some shots?!

I broke out my new Mojoz Gummi Shooters and filled them with vodka for the perfect little end-of-night treat. One lime, one orange — both fun, fruity, and way too easy to enjoy.

Sometimes you just need to skip the cocktail glass and go straight for the shot! These were the perfect finish to a great night. Cheers!

One of the highlights of my visit to A Cuban experience in the heart of OC was the Nacional Treasure—a tropical cocktail that absolutely delivered.

Made with Bacoo 5-Year Rum, passion fruit, fresh lime juice, and azúcar, this cocktail struck the perfect balance between sweet, tart, and refreshing. The aged rum added just enough depth and warmth, while the passion fruit brought bright tropical flavor that paired beautifully with the fresh citrus. Every sip felt like a little escape.

I always appreciate when a cocktail doesn’t try to do too much. With just a handful of quality ingredients and great ex*****on, the Nacional Treasure lets each flavor shine. It’s the kind of drink that’s easy to enjoy on a warm Southern California evening and one I’d happily order again.

If you’re stopping by Habana, this one deserves a spot on your list. Cheers!
