The wolfberry benefits are definitely worth investigating. They provide a natural source of calcium and magnesium, Vitamin B, antioxidants and much more.
The benefits of wolfberries have been known for thousands of years by the Chinese. Not only do they support a healthy immune system but they are loaded with minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.
There are over eighty species of wolfberries worldwide. Each species can vary in antioxidant and nutritional value, so they are definitely not all the same. The specific species, Lycium Barbarum L, or Ningxia Wolfberry, is considered by the Chinese to have the best medicinal properties.
Wolfberry contains not only high amounts of antioxidants, carotenoids, vitamin A and zeaxanthin, but also it is rich in vitamins B and C and polysaccharides.
Ningxia Red contains these same Lycium Barbarum L wolfberries in a whole food purée form. That purée form is intentional, because if they were simply juiced you would get some phytonutrients but not all. With the whole fruit purée, you are getting the whole food value including the fibre and all the phytonutrients contained in the whole fruit. Makes sense, doesn’t it?
