The CCL National Touring Company performed in NYC on Monday nights in "Chicago City Limits Unlimited". Here, circa 1990, Maryanne Watson of G'Day New York dropped in on the show featuring Carole Bugge, Wendy Chatman, Jeff Clinkenbeard, Suzanne Hevner, Josh Jedwab (keyboard), Carl Kissin & Harry Pritchett. 2 things to note: 1. We made fun on Donald Trump way back then! 2. The cast took suggestions after the show, broke for 15 minutes, and then came back with an improvised set. It's a great way to write. Something we borrowed from The Second City.

Here are Mike Colasuonno, Rick Crom, Cecelia de Wolf, Chris Grabenstein, Carl Kissin, John McMahon, Ian Prior, Paul Soderblom, Terry Sommer & John Ten Eyck.

Pete Aguero was the largest CCL cast member. He is also the only one we know of with a tattoo of the state of New Jersey. Here he is with longtime CCL cast member Canedy Knowles. Looks like caption time:

This is another scene from the 1985 sitcom project. We believe it is the only song ever written about the Jarvik-7 artificial heart. Cast, in order of appearance: Paul Zuckerman, Chris Oyen, Linda Gelman, Carol Schindler & David Regal. Eddie Ellner, CCLs Musical Director wizard, is on. keyboards.

In 1985, CCL was hired to provide a technical test-run for a sitcom about to be shot at Chelsea Piers. The cast was asked to perform a variety of improvised and scripted pieces. In this improvised song, the actors were asked to keep changing their location while performing, for the cameras and sound to follow them. Cast includes: Linda Gelman, Chris Oyen, David Regal, Carol Schindler & Paul Zuckerman, with Eddie Ellner on keyboards. Recognize that iconic sitcom set?

If anyone ever writes a book about improv in NYC, there should be at least one chapter devoted to Tom Soter. Tom had been working on a CCL documentary when he passed away. He created this video as a teaser for the project, which prominently features CCL founder, George Todisco. It clearly sums up the group's strategy to relocate to NYC. Members of several casts appear, including, Paul Zuckerman, Bill, McLaughlin, Chris Oyen, Carol Schindler, Linda Gelman, Rick Crom & David Regal.

This is the first program cover photo of the cast that started the CCL run at the Jan Hus Theater in 1981. The kitchen was used to prepare meals for the Yorkville senior citizen lunch program during the day. It connected to the theater and was the place to hang out between shows. A lot of laughs in that room. L to R: Rick Crom, Chris Oyen, Carol Schindler, Linda Gelman, Bill McLaughlin & Paul Zuckerman.
