Happy National Rosé Day!

After months of being beat down by cold temperatures, snow, ice and gray skies, I am officially ready to get wrecked by the Summer Sun from now until Labor Day while enjoying one of the most versatile, delicious, and fun wine categories in the world: rosé wine!

Whether you’re sipping poolside, pairing rosé with your favorite summer meal, hosting friends or simply celebrating life’s little moments, rosé has a way of bringing people together.

This summer, I’ll be hosting exciting rosé programming, both in-person and virtually, and I can’t wait to share it with you.

I also recently launched Rosé My Way, a new educational platform inspired by my book, Maneuvering Rosé Wine With Style.
Here’s to a joyful, stylish, and delicious Rosé Summer 2026!

Check out the new platform at rosemyway.com

Juneteenth is a profound testament to the unyielding spirit of Black Americans. It is an opportunity to reflect on the immense hardships of slavery and the ongoing pursuit of civil rights, ensuring the sacrifices made by generations past are never forgotten. At its heart, Juneteenth is a celebration of Black culture, community, and joy. The holiday also provides a space to center conversations around race, equity and the continued fight for social justice

I’d love for you to join me at Move the Passion on the evening of June 8th — a complimentary multi-location Italian wine experience happening across SoHo and TriBeCa featuring Abruzzo wines, culture and lifestyle.

The event is part of The Charming Taste of Europe, a project co-funded by the European Union dedicated to promoting European quality products, wine culture and the regions behind them. Designed for wine lovers, trade professionals, lifestyle guests, media and members of the NYC wine community, the evening will offer guests an immersive journey through wine, atmosphere, culture and connection.

During registration, guests will select their starting venue and time slot, subject to availability. Upon check-in, attendees will receive an event passport/wristband allowing them to continue the experience across all participating locations throughout the evening, with each venue offering its own unique interpretation of the Move the Passion experience.

The three different venues in SoHo and TriBeca are: the Hall des Lumieres, Arlo Soho and New York Vintners.

It was a beautiful day that started out fashionably early and civically responsible and one that will end with some cleaning, a lot of snacking and some delicious drinking. Happy Sunday Funday!

But with 15, going on 16 years of living in NYC (mostly in Manhattan), it has always been important for me to active in the political, social and community going ons in the Greater New York City.

While some choices for mayors have been questionable, like any relationship. Sometimes you don’t know what you’re going to get into you are months and years deep into it. Hopefully, we’ll have someone to be very proud of and who will make all New Yorkers feel safe, proud and enthusiastic about this wonderful nut house of a City we call home.

And since early voting fell on the last day of the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I had to put on my Sunday’s Best and see the exhibit one last time before it ends.

What an inspirational and proud day for me — proud to be Black, proud to be a New Yorker and proud to be Superfine in style…the broche collection keeps growing and growing.

Early voting continues through Sunday, November 2 and Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th. Please utilize your right to vote. Too many people fought and died for this right for us not to use it.

Be well and drink life up, as much as possible!

Hello Friends! Time just seems to keep getting away from me, so I thought that I’d better do this late Birthday post one week later before it turned into an entire year later.

My Birthday was on the 17th. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Thank you all that reached out to me, invited me out, got me some drinks, got me some bottles, fed me a little, made me laugh and helped me appreciate life. I always appreciate every gesture — even free things like following my social media pages , trying to help me finally hit 1,000 subscribers on YouTube (Maneuvering Wine With Style) — there’s still plenty of time for that - and sending referrals wine/event jobs my way. I honestly do love you, like Olivia Newton John. Yeah, that’s how old I am.

So, how am I doing? Hmmm! Truth be told, I feel like probably most of you all. I’m in the constant state of bewilderment. I got a lot of questions and the answers are just not coming fast enough for me. I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed, physically, emotionally and spiritually. Although I am a pretty private person, I still haven’t even been compelled to share my work with the social media folks. And, if there is anything that remains constant in my life, it’s working — on a variety of things; almost to the point of burnout.

While I am still behind the schedule on business projects, personal goals and like 15 years behind on having any type of decent savings account, I’m still here — producing, creating, living and finding pockets of pleasures to enjoy when I’m not working or enjoying a nice long nap.

Long story being wrapped up shortly, I’m doing as well as can be expected. I’m constantly in my head about what is the best way to approach life as we now know it in order for me to maintain a consistent smile, chuckle a lot more and really dig my heels into some much-needed living.

And since, I’m making time to post about myself and my work today. Stay tuned for a couple more posts about later my life, my work and my DION.

Through the Thunder and through the rain, I walked to my neighborhood polling station in Harlem to help make some changes round here!

There is something very special about being Black and voting in an historically Black community on a Sunday!

With the Earthquake-like rumbling from the Thunderstorms that shook my apartment, it felt like God was trying to tell me something: “Get Out To Vote Early!”

New York is one of the places I feel the safest in this country. It might be difficult to understand, but it’s true. I’m among my people! My tribe. I don’t feel as safe outside of this city. And I don’t want people in this city to feel unsafe. That’s not how we do things here.

Polls are open for early voting until about 5 pm today and voting day for the Primaries is Tuesday at 6 am. Check your local polling station for specific details.

Make the time to research the candidates and vote. I hope you see how important it is to support the right candidates. Life as we know it can change drastically if we don’t.

Happy National Rosé Day!!!

I am celebrating today in a special way because this summer marks five years since I released my rosé wine education book, one of a handful of wine books focused on the rosé wine category, and the first rosé wine education book written by a Black male writer, sommelier and wine educator.

In celebration of the book’s anniversary this year, I have five tips to help you really dive headfirst into learning about this beautiful style of wine and thoroughly enjoy it the duration of this year’s rosé wine season.

1. Diversify your rosé consumption this summer. While Provence rosés are beautiful and delicious, intergrate other styles into your wine life as well — from light to dark, sparkling to still and from other winemaking regions from around the world like Italy, Spain and South Africa.

2. Pick up “Maneuvering Rosé Wine with Style” for some fun, educational summer reading and immerse yourself into the history of the pink wine category, its styles, its various shades of colors and how it works really well with food.

3. Take a rosé wine class. I have two coming up in NYC, next week, June 19th at Harlem Wine Gallery for $25 and one on July 15th at Astor Wine Center for $89 (save 20 percent through June 20th with code: SELECT20) Ticket links to both classes are in by Bio link header section on IG. Virtual Rosé classes can be booked/planned by DM or email.

4. Support Black winemakers who are creating incredible pink wines throughout the United States, Champagne and in St. Tropez, in the South of France.

5. Party for one? Don’t let that stop you from enjoying . Opt for the exciting can options on the market, from 375ML sizes (about two glasses) to the 250ML sizes.

It is trés chic to drink pink, so drink life up, as much as possible!

Be well and be safe!

DM or email if you have questions.
