Take a peek behind the scenes as the work of 2026 UOVO Prize winner Keisha Scarville is reimagined as two large-scale installations in Brooklyn!

“Within/Between/Corpus (1)," installed on the facade of UOVO Brooklyn, reimagines an archival photograph that the artist’s mother purchased upon moving to the United States. Scarville’s work overlays portraits and still lifes onto abstract patterns—many sourced from garments owned by her late mother, Alma.

In “Where Salt Meets Black Water,” installed on the Brooklyn Museum's Iris Cantor Plaza, these striking images are filled with mesmerizing details that reward stepping back, looking closely, and reflecting on their meaning.
