Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Had this bottle of second label overture. A non vintage blend of the grapes that don't make it in the flagship blend. Still though, a delicious fruit forward bottle that I haven't tasted in a while. What were you drinking over the holidays?

Been a little quiet on here lately while working on other projects. But to bring it back I'd recommend jumping into a bottle of corvina. Medium body with slightly tart red fruit and some brighter acidity, this red grape which is used to make Amarone can shine just as well without going through that process and is a steal in that 20 dollar price range. Check out .winery as a great starting point!

Thinking back about the first Cuban cigar I had given to me by I try not get sucked into the hype about any one particular vice or hobby. Obviously Cubans are of interest because they're hard to obtain and there are still some legendary ci**rs being produced there. I've heard long ago that the government became more concerned with producing as many ci**rs as possible and not crop rotating or maintaining healthy soil. From what I understand this resulted in soils being over fertilized and drained of crucial components. To me, this particular cigar was very earthy, and had an almost fertilizer component. What are your experiences with Cubans?

I've had this bottle on my shelf for maybe 4 years and decided to give it a go the other night. sits in the heart of the Santa Cruz mountains and makes some of my favorite wine in the state. This bottle was no exception. Their 2009 Syrah from their fat buck ridge vineyard was full of pepper and dark fruit and drinking beautifully right now. I always love seeing what California does with Syrah because there are so many different interpretations of it. I recommend getting your hands on some Fogarty Wine and seeing for yourself.
