If you don’t already know the benefits of music in early childhood let me fill you in. Participation in music stimulates more parts of a child’s brain than any other human function. We are not just singing, dancing, and playing instruments— we are developing gross and fine motor skills, learning sentence structure and new vocabulary, developing self-regulation, building self confidence, and a sense of community all through play! Parents can benefit from music as well. Of course, parents will learn new songs and games to try at home, but there’s more. Each week I witness friendships being built between families as parents connect with each other through their children. They laugh together at the silliness that occurs in a 45 min class and they sympathize with one another over the unique challenges of parenthood. One of the best parts of music for parents and children is the bond it will create! Parents who connect with their children through music are more likely to have close relationships even as children get older.

First recital is a wrap! For most of these students, it was their first time performing solo in front of an audience, a huge milestone in their musical journey. I am so proud of them all! Congratulations singers!

Singing is good for the soul! It keeps our memory strong, stimulates the vagus nerve and almost every part of our brain. It elevates our mood, relieves stress, and releases endorphins. Taking lessons will improve your posture, lung capacity, and help you express yourself!
In lessons I teach you to pay attention to your body, breathing, and thoughts, removing any fear or self imposed limitations. We find your voice and learn to sing without tension. In just a few lessons you'll find a sense of confidence you never thought possible! So what are you waiting for? Get started TODAY!

Music with Miss Elin is dynamic, engaging, multi-sensory, and most of all, fun!

What do I offer? Each week I bring new instruments for the class to play and explore, teach songs, read and perform musical stories, and lead kiddos in movement to varying styles of music.

When children participate in music more parts of their brain are stimulated than during any other human function! Dancing and playing instruments develop gross and fine motor skills. Through song children learn rhyming, sentence structure and new vocabulary promoting growth in speech and eventually the ability to read. Research has also found a link between music and spatial intelligence. This helps children visualize various elements that should go together, as they would when solving a math problem.

What makes me different? As a former Preschool teacher I bring excellent classroom management skills, an understanding of different developmental stages, and a unique silliness that kids adore. My lesson plans take into consideration the value of repetition and the importance of variety for children. I cater to their different attention spans, abilities, and needs allowing everyone to participate in their own way.

Did you know I offer Infant-Preschool music classes in childcare and preschool centers?!

Participating in music prepares young children for school readiness through social emotional growth, gross and fine motor skills, literacy, language development and more. Through song and rhyme our earliest learners make sense of sounds and words helping them learn to speak and prepare to read!

Sign your preschool or daycare center up for a free preview class today!
