It always starts the same way: a couple drinks on a weekend, or somebody handing you something saying, "it’ll clear your mind" or "it’ll numb the pain." You think you're just blowing off steam, but slowly, bright-eyed kids with all the potential in the world start slipping away into a cycle they can’t break out of.
I’ve put thousands of miles on the road across 30 states, and when you’re in these bars in a different city every single night, you see all walks of life. The heavy part is, whether I'm back home in Montana or across the country out on the highway, it's the exact same story playing out. You watch youth, talent, and big dreams get traded for missed calls and people trapped in their own heads.
That’s why I wrote Bright Eyed Kid. Taking back full control of my music as an independent artist isn't about asking for permission, it's about stepping up and making sure these heavy, unfiltered stories actually get told instead of sitting on a shelf.
