Jones Violet (she/her) is an artist and comedian who likes cats, sad music, and sad music about cats. She performs improv and standup and focuses her comedy on her experiences as a hot trans gal living in a not so hot world. She is also a semi professional artist and social worker and full time mall goth.

PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT:
M.C. Shoehorn

Shoehorn makes music with his feet and dances with his horn. The pandemic has caused an emphasis on his "Noir Sax" ambient sax and tap dance show, but he also plays in bands as a featured sideman, and leads his own group. He has released 6 full-length CDs as a bandleader. His one-man show "Dances with Instruments" includes the tappercussion™ e-tap™ instrument, his own system of electric tap dance, along with multiple woodwinds and percussion, and live looping. The one-man, two-act theatrical presentation "Saxovision" includes all of that, plus spoken word, video projections, and voice overs. Shoehorn has an ear for music from around the world, plays various styles, and sings in several languages. He has worked with many cabaret circus artists in Europe, Australia, and Japan, and appeared with top tap dance acts in Russia, Austria, and the USA.

Tora grew up in wine country with a dance and musical theater background. She moved to the city to study veterinary medicine in 2006 and eventually found aerial dance in 2012 and has been a performer in Portland’s circus community since 2016. You may have seen Tora performing around town with AWOL Dance Collective’s Circus Rose company, or pre-pandemic at The Steep and Thorny Way to Heaven. She is excited to be performing at the Curious Cabaret and stoked that live performance is making a comeback!
