My stay was a month long. Not only did I have the grand opportunity to intern for a non-profit Youth Empowerment Center within the town, but I was able to be accommodated through a home-stay with a local family. Damn, I miss this so much.

California’s sun began turning over the horizon, and the air grew chilly. On my way to the bathroom, I️ stopped in front of a super cool rig (pictured) owned by an old man. We stopped to talk for what seemed like an hour about our shared love for travel. As a retired vet from Colorado, he wanted to take some alone time on the open road for a few months. “Freedom tastes mighty good,” he says.
