Inspired by many people around me, I'm giving a shot at entrepreneurship. Tying together my love of local food, beer and farming, I hope to produce small amounts of malt from local grain for local use.

Sorry I haven't been terribly active lately everyone, I've started a new job but haven't left the old one yet, and so have been working about 65 hours a week. However, once I make the full transition in a few weeks, I should have significantly more time than ever to work on malting!

Testing out a new toy to help control the kilning! This little do-dad, on top of being an excellent intro to hardware wiring, will keep kiln temps within a preset range! This way I can do a controlled dry and make various flavor profile malts, and freak my wife out less about the garage burning down!

Wooot! It's done (I think!) It's dry to the touch through and through. At the moment, I have no way to test it officially like, but I think we're good! A portion of this will get smoked, and then I'll be looking for someone to test brew with this batch!

Malt is loaded onto the kiln! In about 24 hours it should be ready to go! Very exciting day here!
