An extension of The Lauren Mae Fulone Memorial Scholarship Fund, The Goosey Fund was created to promote anonymous good deeds. The Goosey Fund’s mission is to celebrate Lauren’s life by encouraging folks to “pass along the kindness” by using the “You’ve been Goosed” card. Lauren, or “Goosey” as she was known by almost everyone, became notorious for anonymously “picking up the tab” for strangers. Sh
e was especially supportive of our military veterans and their families, our elderly citizens, and folks with special needs. The concept of the card is simple…when the spirit moves you pick up the check for that older couple’s breakfast, a round of drinks for the folks in uniform sitting at the bar, or the coffee for the car behind you in the drive-up, hand your server or bartender the “You’ve been Goosed” card and ask them to give it to the lucky recipient of your good deed, anonymously of course. Ideally, they in turn will perform some random kindness and pass the card along. If you’d like a supply of “You’ve been Goosed!” cards, just email us at [email protected] or post a request here on The Goosey Fund page and we’ll ship them out to you! We’d like to collect $10 for each package (10 cards per package), but frankly if you don’t want to spend the money that’s fine, we’ll still send the cards because it’s a really cool idea.
