Throwback to August 31, 2006, when Jim Leyland had just been ejected in the middle of the 7th inning for arguing balls and strikes. He stormed out of the dugout to get his money's worth and was in the middle of screaming at the umpires when the PA system suddenly started playing "God Bless America" for the 7th-inning stretch.
Without hesitation, Leyland stopped mid-sentence, took off his hat, and stood respectfully alongside the very umpires he was just screaming at. They stood in silence for the entire song.
The second the final note ended, Leyland immediately put his hat back on and resumed screaming exactly where he left off. It is considered one of the funniest displays of "Old School" baseball manners in history.
