Summer's the season an XK120 OTS is built for. Top down, no weather to think about, just the car doing what it was designed to do. Fall changes that equation, and this is usually the first wet drive of the year for a lot of owners.
The OTS wasn't originally built with much weather protection in mind. Jaguar sold it as a sports car first, and the folding top was added mostly because American buyers asked for one. It works, but it was never the point of the car the way it is on a saloon.
So if you're pulling the top up for the first time this year, that's not a step down from the summer drives, it's just the part of ownership the sunny months let you forget about. Check the seals and the top mechanism now, before the season asks more of them than it has all year.
Where did your last sunny drive of the year take you?
