I’m getting a lot of messages about what zones to apply for for the Maine moose lottery, which is now open. My suggestion is to always pick the zones with the most numbers of tags allocated. If you get picked up there, you can always swap to our zones. So I like these choices in this order:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 19, 18 and 28. A report has come out showing that 11, 18, 19 and 28 are not giving away September bull hunts to non-residents. (That’s a scam from the state in my opinion) But they have given the October hunt out.
Be willing to do the October hunt as well.

Congrats to Evangeline for getting first place in her science fair! Her focus was on which weight field point, when shot from 40’ penetrated ballistics gel the deepest between 125gr, 200gr, and 300gr.

We still have a few spots for the 2026 Maine bear hunt. We have availability in week 2 (9/6-9/12) and Week 4 (9/20-9/26)
The cost is $2200, which includes meals, lodging, and is fully guided.
If you want to trap, bear trapping season is open in both of those weeks, and it is the same price as hunting. Deposits are $1100 to reserve your spot. Message me for details.

2026 MAINE BLACK BEAR HUNT
What do these bears have in common? They were all harvested in week 1 and week 4 last year!

Week 1 is 8/30-9/5
Week 4 is 9/20-9/26.
We still have remaining availability in both of those weeks. There is a LOT of interest, but the spots remain.
Hunt cost is $2200. All meals, guiding and lodging included. Deposit is $1100 to save your spot. Message me for details anytime.
