Join me this Sunday for a picnic lunch as I weave the beauty of what grows into summer recipes.
I've been working with the farm for the last 3 years and I love everything they're about. A small community farm in Peabody focused on growing organic food, and environmental education. and herbalist Rebecca Ingalls are rock stars and I'm forever grateful for their work and artistry.

Reservations close Monday for our high summer feast at Nahant Life Saving Station on Saturday 7.20 7-10pm. My inspiration for this event is a James Baldwin quote that I see every time I enter our kitchen. It is the embodiment of what Uncommon Feasts and this evening is for me.

“To be sensual, I think, is to respect and rejoice in the force of life, of life itself, and to be present in all that one does, from the effort of loving to the breaking of bread.”

I wanted a more intimate and connected experience since we have the whole of summer deliciously stretched out before us. This time the makers will also be serving and Shannon from will be pouring wines from makers she supports and is excited to share. Niko will be at the bar mixing up cocktails. And Jordan will be pulling double duty getting the campfire going. Zach and his group will be playing some old time jazz.
This is an evening about sensuality and gathering. We hope you can join us.

Pork pie with a glossy rich crust.
Aside from homemade ice cream and jam these are among the most satisfying things to make. It just feels so good and thrifty to turn out something so pretty and practical. And I love that these are stocked at room temperature on shelves and windows of shops rather than bland and rock solid straight from the fridge.

There is so much about this photo I love. First off a counter filled with handmade sweets, gleaming in the morning light. And the lovely, creative Joji who assembled it all just as I had imagined. And sweet Ali capturing it so beautifully. Thank you everyone that came out for Our Mother's Day Bake and everyone behind the scenes. It was a massive success all around.
