I've got a new cute little garden! just kidding. It's 10,000 ft2, plus the 3,000 ft2 one I put in a couple years ago gives me more than a quarter acre in garden. We had 9 dump truck loads of manure brought in. After that, i'll be relying on cover crops to do the majority of fertilizing and w**d control. This brings food self sufficiency very much in my reach!!

OH MY GOSH. I thought i knew all about cute baby animals. You just haven't seen cute until you've seen two hatchling goslings waddle up to two week old chicks as if to say, "are YOU my mother??" or, "will you be my friend?!" As usual, these photos don't come close to capturing their personality. They are cute but awkward, d***y but intelligent, their down is amazingly thick and soft, and they have completely captured my heart!

Brooder? check. Starter soaked in yogurt? check. Water? check. Bring on the chicks! These photos just don't do justice to how sweet and soft they are. When you bring them home from the PO, you take them from the box one by one and dip their beaks in the water so they know where to find it. In no time they are hopping around, drinking water, pecking at food, and wrestling the hay on the floor.
