"Canada Bar" at sheddy's public parlour has moved to Monday nights. Also I just invested in apple tv's NHL Gamecenter (Thank you Bethany, GO FLAMES!) Doing the Canucks v. Kings game today of course. But as much as this is not a sports bar, now that we have a season, it will be on demand here any day!

The Blackburn Alley Hockey league is a go. Less than a week since the sign up sheet went up and we have 6 teams already! Still time to get involved. Wednesday nights, starting in September. Equipment provided. Come by the bar for details.
FYI: no Canadians signed up as of yet. That just seems wrong ;-)

Happy Fourth of July! In honor of Independence Day "Canada Bar" is cancelled and I'm spelling honor without a u. Sheddy's is open however and Sousa is blasting out the speakers!

I know I come across a bit anti- (in my head I'm pronouncing that "anTIE") USA but if I really was do you think I'd let my OWN SISTER be born on July 4th?! Happy birthday Kelsey Sheddy and Happy Birthday AMERICA!

It's CANADA DAY! For the parade outside Sheddy's, from 3rd St. to Blackburn on Fairfax, we are looking for: A high school band, a Rodeo Queen (with pissed-off Rodeo Princesses), BAGPIPERS, First Nations (or politicians dressed as First Nations) on Palaminos, somewhat-recognizable old people riding in old convertibles, Shriners in tiny cars (or as we did it at home in Drumheller, Alberta, tiny cars with Dinosauaur-shaped, papier-mâché shells) and CANDY!

CanadaWeek starts tonight with La Fete St-Jean! The poutine truck will arrive at 630. FOUR Quebecois beers on tap and Molson and Moosehead all on special, all week long! Plus every day enter your name in our Canada Day draw to win cool prizes including a Vintage Labatt's Blue Denim Jacket!

It's that time of year again and this year is going to be the biggest party yet!

Canada Week kicks off this Sunday, June 24th with La Fete St-Jean, the Quebec national holiday and will continue throughout the week until Canada Day, Sunday July 1st. The Gravy Train will of course be at Sheddy's both Sundays to fill you up with delicious poutine. Rumor has it that they may bake us up some Nanaimo bars too!

Our Wednesday night drink specials will be in force all week long. $3 Molson Canadian and Moosehead Lager, $6 Unibroue beers and $5 Caesars and "rye" and gingers. Beginning Sunday we will have FOUR Unibroues on tap Maudite is back at last along with Blonde de Chambly, Blanche de Chambly and Ephemere Cassis (blackcurrant) with La Fin du Monde and Ephemere Apple beer in bottles.

Tuesday Trivia is a must. In addition to the weekly prize of a $30 bar tab (or as I like to call it, 10 Molsons!) there will be a special Canadian category where you can win an actual pack of TIM HORTON's coffee!

All week long buy a Canadian beer and enter your name to win awesome stuff from Unibroue, sweet Canadian swag or a Vintage Labatt Blue Denim Jacket!! Draw will take place on Canada Day!

And speaking of Canada Day, it's gonna be a real party this year! Cheap beer, poutine and even a shuffle board donated by the Hollywood Curling Team! This is our biggest night of the year so mark your calendars and don't miss out!

Growing up, everyone knew you had to love at least 2 of 3 things to be Canadian: Beer, Hockey or The Tragically Hip. To this Trifecta of Awesomeness I add POUTINE, and Sheddy's and The Gravy Train has it all tonight at CANADA BAR!

HAPPY HOUR at 5, GAME at 6 and POUTINE at 7. Cheap beer and great tunes all night long!
