We've been quiet for a while, but it's time to rise up and ride some coattails again by extending a boatload of congrats to Frolic Show comedian Brooks Wheelan. Last month, NBC announced Wheelan would join the writing staff of Saturday Night Live for its new season. As if that wasn't huge enough, this morning brought news that Wheelan is also the final new cast member!

Los Angeles standup Brooks Wheelan is joining Saturday Night Live as a cast member this season, Lorne Michaels told The New York Times today.
