All forms of trans love are sacred.

I am blessed that the majority of my chosen family and community are trans, intersex, two-spirit, māhū, nonbinary, gnc. I am grateful that you all choose to love me and allow me to love you back; all of you continue to teach me so much about love. I am blessed to be in love in a partnership with someone who has seen so much of me–so many of the parts that aren’t visible–and still chooses to love me, still chooses to have faith.

I wish for all trans people to know, feel, and embody this love. I wish for all trans people to be free, which cannot happen without a F R E E P A L E S T I N E.

(Part 1/2) late post🏳️‍⚧️

Some days my grief and rage and despair are so heavy that they become part of my gender. Some days I need to prioritize safety over expressing myself authentically. Some days I need to prioritize comfort and accessibility over expressing myself fully. Most days I am reminded how much “visibility” is a privilege that many people who exist at many intersections of oppression cannot afford to risk. Most days I am reminded that “visibility” alone will not save or liberate us, or get our basic needs met.

And,

every day I remain grateful for all the trans, intersex, nonbinary, gendernonconforming, māhū, Two-Spirit chosen family and community that surrounds me and keeps me going. These too, are privileges. I wish for every trans person to experience love, family, care, acceptance, internal peace, safety, and joy. 💓

ORIGIN STORY TIME:
A little over a year ago, after I had the honor of hosting New Years Day Party 2023–I ran into my friends .baybayyy & who said their friend really wanted to say hi. Up walks this shy QT who asks to take a photo together, and then nervously says:

“You are amazing and I love drag…I was wondering…Umm….Can I be your apprentice??”

Me: “No. But you can be my drag son!” The rest is history.

King Koshari, I am infinitely blessed to be your drag dad, your chosen family, your friend, and comrade. Even though I’m a bit of an absent father at times due to disability flares, you’ve always been so compassionate, patient, nonjudgmental, and supportive. You’ve gone out of your way to show care and love, you’ve helped me get to gigs when my body was hurting too much, you’ve taught me so much about resistance, organizing, q***r trans joy, & community building. Tbh, I feel like I’ve barely taught you anything because you already had such innate talent and passion and creativity and I mean look at all you’ve done in just one year!? I’m so so proud and so thrilled to keep supporting and witnessing you, in all that you will create and be.
