Five years ago, Glen Rodriguez became my head bartender. Somewhere along the way, though, he became so much more than that.
If you’ve been around Bubble Bar for any amount of time, chances are you’ve seen Glen behind the bar ,probably making something incredible, keeping everyone laughing, and somehow staying calm in the middle of absolute chaos.
For five years, he has been one of the people I know I can count on.
He’s shown up for the long days, the late nights, the huge weddings, the crazy events, the last-minute changes, the stressful moments and the really, really good ones. He’s watched this little dream grow, change, stumble, succeed and become something bigger than I ever imagined , and he has been there through all of it.
And I’ve gotten to watch him grow, too.
I have watched Glen become one of the most talented bartenders I know. His creativity, knowledge and ability behind a bar are incredible, but what makes him irreplaceable to me has never just been his talent.
It’s who he is.
He is loyal. He shows up. He cares. He takes pride in what we do. And when you build a business that requires you to trust people with something you have poured your entire heart into, having someone beside you that you know you can depend on is worth more than I could ever put into words.
Glen isn’t just my head bartender anymore.
He is family.
There are so many pieces of what I do that simply wouldn’t be possible without him, and I don’t think I’ve said that loudly enough over the years.
Glen, thank you for believing in this crazy little dream enough to keep showing up for it. Thank you for carrying some of the weight when it got heavy. Thank you for the thousands of drinks, countless events, late nights, inside jokes and memories we’ve collected over these five years.
Most of all, thank you for being someone Eric and I can always count on.
I am unbelievably proud of the bartender you’ve become, but I’m even more grateful for the person and friend you’ve been to us along the way.
Five years later, I genuinely cannot imagine doing this without you.
You’re part of our family, you’re part of Bubble Bar, and you’ll always be part of this story. 🤍
