For those who may not know, Deb from Radix Farm has been navigating chronic Lyme disease that has taken a serious toll on her health for the past decade. In recent years, her condition has progressed to where she struggles to meet the physical demands of farming. She and her husband, Graham, have spent years searching for effective treatment — a journey that has been long, exhausting, and incredibly expensive, often requiring travel across the country in hopes of finding answers and relief.
Recently, they discovered that mold exposure has been significantly worsening Deb’s symptoms, and that mold has been present in their home. While this has brought some clarity, it has also been devastating to learn that their sanctuary has been contributing to her illness.
Remediation has been ongoing for the past two months and has become more complex and lengthy after contaminated dust unintentionally spread through the home during the cleaning process. They’ve adapted as best they can, but it has taken a major toll on both their health and their farming capabilities.
Between remediation and repairs, the cost to make their home safe is expected to exceed $50,000.
Deb and Graham have spent years tending to this community. Now they need some of that care returned.
On Tuesday, June 9th at 5:30pm, Carta will be hosting a coursed dinner with wine pairings in support of Deb & Graham of Radix Farm. The evening will feature seasonal ingredients generously donated by Mystic Acres, Campo Farms, and Radix Farm. Chef is currently finalizing the menu, which will be announced next week.
