It is with the heaviest of hearts that we are making this post. One of our founding members, Carlos Quijada, is no longer with us. Most of you knew him, but for those who didn’t, he was the backbone of this organization for so long. He was behind the scenes and lifted up our other members/resident DJs. He supported our vision from day one and went on to become an integral part of what MNTRA was.
Through the years of grinding, week in and week out, he helped create a platform for our resident DJs and for so many locals to have their debuts. He helped make our brand and our little weekly party Techno Taco Tuesday locally, regionally, and internationally known. He helped us introduce rising techno talent to Las Vegas years before those artists played the biggest festivals. He wasn’t just an educator of math; he was an educator of music.
He wore his TTT shirts and his MNTRA hats so proudly all the time everywhere he went. He was so proud of what he was a part of and what he helped build, and we were proud of him. Over the last decade, we made so many memories together, for us and for this city.
Thank you, Carlos, for always keeping MNTRA close to your heart and taking us with you everywhere you went. Thank you for all that you did for this underground scene and helping it grow into what it is today. Thank you for all you did to help build MNTRA and Techno Taco Tuesday. Thank you for taking us to festivals and beyond. Thank you for helping us live our dream. Thank you for all of your hard work and countless nights you gave us over the last 10+ years. Rest in peace, our dear friend. You will always be remembered as a legend. We love you. Till we meet again. ❤️
