Teaching Work Ethic, One Job at a Time

Our teenage son has his eye on something that isnโ€™t currently top prioroty in budget. Instead of just wishing for it, he came to us and asked if he could work to earn the money himself.

For the past week, he has worked after school every day, staying dedicated to his goal. Through this, heโ€™s learning valuable lessonsโ€”money doesnโ€™t grow on trees, hard work pays off, and budgeting is key. Heโ€™s also keeping an official timesheet, just like any real job, and gaining firsthand experience in what it takes to reach a financial goal. Today he got his first paycheck

Itโ€™s moments like these that remind us why we do what we do. Thereโ€™s a famous quote that says:

โ€œWhen you buy from a small business, youโ€™re not helping a CEO buy a third vacation home. Youโ€™re helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom put food on the table, or a dad pay the mortgage.โ€

When you support small businesses like ours, youโ€™re directly supporting families, dreams, and life lessons for the next generationโ€”and we couldnโ€™t be more grateful.
