Willow (filly) is snuggled in the barn out of this winter snow storm. She was born in November and is our first baby pony born here. Prepping everyone several days before we were prepared for the snow that came overnight. We started early this morning and have made the rounds checking on all the animals and breaking ice in the water troughs.

The November piglets are getting ready to head to their new homes. They are pasture raised and organically fed. The current weight of each piglet is about 18-20lbs. It’s important that they get where they are going before or after the cold temperature snap due to pigs being susceptible to getting pneumonia. It is better for the piglets to not travel in the extreme cold wind or for them to try and navigate a new home in the extreme cold weather. In the pasture they have shelter and plenty of hay for them to burrow into and be completely covered and snuggled together for warmth.

This beautiful cabbage plant is doing amazing. The cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower are thankfully still going strong despite the cold and hot back and forth South Texas weather.

So thankful these fruit trees are thriving after the extreme summer heat. With the South Texas temperatures recently cooling down this pear tree is currently confused and has started putting on beautiful little blooms.

When we try to explain Great Pyrenees “bonded to goats” but a video explains it so much better. Those dogs stay with the goats 24/7. Not by force or electric fence, shock collar or tether. We don’t ever need dangle sticks or head contraptions. Our perimeter fence is a 4ft goat net wire fence. No they don’t run out when we open the pasture gate. That is their herd. The adult dogs and adult goats raise the pups to show submission and pass down duties from the very beginning. They shape these pups as they grow and stop anything that might be any type of unwanted behavior. They are not put in a kennel or a pen next to the goats. These pups have never been separated from goats. Born and raised with goats and LGDs. The dogs will follow around and watch the goats wherever they go. They leave with the goats for hours and come back as one. This is a video from March 2024 of the goats leaving to go forage for the day and their older pup escorts checking out and marking territory. The dog’s DOB was 7/4/23. They aren’t looking to escape or roam because what they need is on the inside of the fence not on the outside. How the young pup is raised has a lot to do with its future. These dogs need goats and the goats need the dogs. These 2 male Great Pyrenees dogs are available.
The baby cow in the lower right corner is not an animal they were bonded to as they were raised. They are in the pasture with the goats but these 2 pups were raised and bonded to goats. The sibling of these 2 male dogs stayed with the baby dairy cows when they left with the goats. (This dog was placed at an early age in with the baby dairy cows in their pasture when they arrived. We also placed one of the older alpha female LGDs in this pasture with the pup and baby cows.) They all work in the same pasture together now.
