Nineteen-eighty-three, he was ten years old.

A lot happened that year. Ronald Reagan was president, Return of the Jedi was in theaters, the A-team promptly escaped from a maximum-security stockade, Michael Jackson was thrilling us, and Grand DM learned about Dungeons & Dragons. For over three decades he has been writing and creating homebrew RPG material. Fast forward to 2015, and Ultanya Publishing was founded. The namesake is derived from

the campaign world Grand DM has been continuously running. In 2015 the Game Tavern, a Geekie Awards nominee, was also founded. The first product Ultanya Publishing created was a system agnostic, RPG zine dubbed Tales from the Game Tavern. The goal of the zine is to share with the community the types of material that are commonplace in the Game Tavern. The publication is designed to have the vibe of a classic zine while keeping to a theme with every issue. Grand DM is also a regular blogger at www.ultanya.com which covers a very broad spectrum of topics. Grand DM is a big believer in thinking outside the box, or as the motto goes "gaming outside the box." So if you enjoy DIY, and turning it up to eleven, stop by!
