Meet Sandra! 💪🏽
At 65 years old Sandra decided to make the bold decision to start training with barbells. I remember the first time she walked into Simply Strong Gym, she was hesitant to barbells but also very determined to learn how they could add value to her health. 4 months later, Sandra is crushing her goals, day one she was squatting a 35 pound bar and it was difficult but get this... she is now squatting 120 pounds!!! I just want to take a moment and say: Sandra your dedication and consistency are an inspiration! The world needs to see that strength is for everyone, THANK YOU for being apart of pioneering that path.
Read more below about why Sandra started lifting and how it has added value to her life:
Why did you start lifting?
"Being physically strong has always been important to me. I have worked out mostly doing aerobics, rowing and the treadmill. I didn’t feel stronger and wanted to go out of my comfort zone and try barbell training. It is something I have always wanted to try but did not have the confidence to so. The health benefits of building strong bones and muscles as you get older makes life more fun."
How has lifting impacted your life?
"In as little as 4 months I have gained the ability to lift heavy bins while gardening, wrangle suitcases off the carousel and carry large totes with ease. Feeling energized and being able to breathe deeply, becoming toned and strong is super amazing."
