Was it the high coming fresh off summer to see all your friends, or the endless meetups in the hallways at your locker or theirs....maybe it was the chairs, those hard wood ones that kept us grounded and the green boards that took caught our attention with the ruler or the pointer stick

What we know for sure, is the letters written were the way we communicated like a USPS secret service that ran only during passing periods with drop offs like special delivery...maybe an origami, maybe a love letter or the hottest news fresh off the press

Education systems served us in many ways then and now and while it may be a "Different World" the memories lived in the borders of the hallways and classrooms gave us substance to stand on today as we navigate today

We Are Culture, 203 Reunion Park inside of BLAKK City ™

When the street lights came on...you just knew the time

Before there were selfies, there were photos of family

If the antenna wasn't working....the foil was next

Prior to ancestry.com, the BIG Bible told you your history

All of this happened where Kansas City....?

We're just weeks away from opening weekend and we want you to be the first to experience it

The first (3) to answer will be ENTER into a drawing for a (1) day visit to our all-new BLAKK City ™ an immersive city-theme experience that pays homage to Black Culture and especially Black Kansas City

Where do we begin, Lori Mitchell , sis you walked into the doors of our first location and before you could really see or believe anything, you believed in us

Lori, the founder and creator of Heaven Scent Collective Kansas City's first Black Owned Candle Bar found her way into our hearts with her saying I want to exclusively feature my gentlemen's collection at The Blakk Co.

If you have ever purchased a candle from our business, this is the beautiful brilliant genius behind the brand, we've seen you walk down this lane of entrepreneurship and it has been a beautiful site to see

Thank you for your sisterhood, your support and your love & kindness you've shown to us throughout the years this is what turning collaboration into currency really looks like

Be on the lookout for another one of her ideas "Tables That Turn" coming up on October 25th for local business owners and entrepreneurs and her products inside of our all new Black Wall Street Marketplace

Happiest Birthday sis, we love you 🎉🎈❤️

Let's talk about the power of community for just one moment

In full transparency, posting has become the least thing we've been focused on doing because we've been working so much in the background to prepare an amazing space and all-new concept, BLAKK City ™ opening soon

In the last week there has been a video surfacing that has challenged the existence of a long standing concept in Kansas City, that Troost is NOT SAFE etc.....etc....

Well, we know two things for sure TROOST is safe and TROOST is thriving and thriving so much that we have

With less than 6K views 7 days ago, we now have over 54K ....that's real numbers, real analytics, real views and real community members showing up so bring awareness of the positive versus the negative

How else can you get visibility without posting, and trusting the people in your community to stand up to business bullying, community bullying and all types of misinformed information

Thank you Kansas City for showing up for the us, the collective and the city at large, we are stronger together
