My favorite tshirt is a that says, “probably anxious”. I wear it often and consider it fair warning. Living close to medical care is important for my cortisol levels. I need to know we could access life saving medical care quickly.

When we moved to Woodstock, NY I was anxious about living 20 minutes from the closest hospital.

What does any of this have to do with craft or cocktails? A lot and I’ve started the discussion on substack. Please come say hi and find a simple, delicious recipe accompanied by a meaningful toast.

Extra, Extra, Read All About It 📰
Join us on free Substack for a new krecipe and a story about the gigantic hole in our Camp pocket. Times are strange. We are holding on to friends, family, and foraging. Our pockets may be empty, but our hearts are full. ❤️🥂

Really good cocktail recipe at the bottom of this post.
*******
Our current tiny and perfect home bar is pictured in photo one. I have room for candles, sage, Lottie Moon, and ingredients for my favorite cocktail, a Last Word. Photos two and three are from our Florida life that seems so long ago. (Photo 2-3 .)

In honor of saving money while building community, here’s a quick and delicious cocktail any home bartender can make. The recipe calls for equal parts of each ingredient. Have friends coming over? Make this recipe ahead of time and leave the shaking till everyone’s assembled OR pre-batch and leave in the freezer. This recipe serves one. Multiply times the number of people you need to serve. Maybe just go ahead and make enough for folks to have the Last Word, twice. 😎

Last Word
1 oz Gin
1 oz Maraschino Liqueur (or a vodka infused Camp Cherry Limeade
1 oz Green Chartreuse
1 0z fresh lime juice

Add above ingredients to a shaker half filled with ice. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Strain into a coupe glass. Serve with a bourbon cherry for extra fancy deliciousness.

I think all home bars need a memento displayed. Think you can spot mine?

Rhonda and I once lived on the same block as this cutie, 101 E 8th Street, Springfield in Jax, FLA, 32206. Our plan was to build cocktail kits and community all under one roof. It’s a sweet space with brick walls, great natural light &
new: roof, hvac, electrical, plumbing. This spot was originally two 1500 sq ft store fronts with separate front and back doors. One block from and ’s new location.

Potential uses for 101 E 8th Street:
Oyster Bar
Wine Shop
Live on one side, rent other side
French Restaurant decorated in navy blue and reds.
Plant shop
Boujee Laundry Mat that doubles as a singles meet up
Gilmore Girls style movie theater - drinks and small bites , comfy seating, cozy.
Convenience Store
Radio Station
Springfield Weekly, local newspaper
Walk up fried shrimp - the shrimperette
Moody Bar called Vespers 🥂

I’m sharing in hopes someone might know someone who is looking for a place of their own in a community we believe in.

Email [email protected] or google address for the basics❤️💕

I bought this champagne at last summer. I told rhonda we would save it to toast the sale of our properties. Lately I’ve started thinking - why wait? April was a huge month in the life of our small business. We retro’d back to a staff of two. We navigated a pivotal business transition.

The sale of the properties represented breathing room to launch new products and shuffle our production goals. Closing production means the very same thing - breathing room and the opportunity to grow community outside the bounds of a glass jar.

We opened our bottle last night. Thanks for making this stunner

Young Mother
There is no schedule. Like the baby, I am untethered and unknowing. I wear him like a spare appendage.
In these years it is in vogue to choose a kind of mothering— attachment or otherwise. I choose a pacing tiger, a milk-drained spud. I wear my heart like a too-big sleeve, dragging it across every surface. In the evenings when the world bares its ugly teeth-we walk.
Down sidewalks and stairs, hallways and the rims of crowded rooms.
When someone asks for my ambitions, I have no answer. I only dream of sleep.

Thank you for the kind words and incredible encouragement after yesterday’s announcement. Nostalgia has taken over and I’d much rather write about market memories than tariffs, so here’s a memory from our early days. 💕🥂

This blue dress was my Saturday market uniform for years. Light weight and in a sweat hiding shade of navy blue, it was the perfect outfit March to November at the Fernandina, Florida, Farmer’s Market.

I’ve talked to approximately 12,321 people in this dress. If you hold this dress up to your ear you can hear my Camp Craft Cocktails sales pitch. So one day when the catering employee directly across the walkway from my booth said, “Hey, you wear that dress every week,” I just laughed. I had never even thought about the possibility it might be strange.

This week while packing our Jacksonville belongings I unearthed my faithful, cotton armor. I won’t be wearing it to market anymore, but you can still buy Camp on our website and at stores across the country, while supplies last.

Find your blue dress. Wear. Wash. Repeat. Do you have your own version and when do you wear it?
