For most bodybuilders— the prep is stressful.
The eating every meal, hitting your macros, getting the right workouts in..it can become a bit stressful leading up to a show.
But if I had to be completely 100% honest with you…
It’s not like that for me. This just isn’t the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Not dying, that’s at the top of that list!!! 👌🏽
One year ago, my very first prep— yes.
I was in unknown territory and anticipating the unexpected.
With every show it’s gotten easier, but this last show, I felt so so much peace. ☮️
Leading up to it, I still had all the stress in my life, but for multiple other reasons. Coming back to my workouts and my routine daily were actually my saving grace in the middle of the chaos around me. The consistency of my routine keeps me on planet earth.
Stepping on that stage, I’ve never felt that calm before.
There weren’t a bunch of nerves or cold sweats with a side of anxiety..there was only happiness and praise. 🙏🏼
I remember closing my eyes and thanking God the moment my heels touched those steps, ready for my turn next.
Some days I just sit back and can’t help but just feel so grateful for Gods miracles, and it’s pretty cool to know that I am one of them. 🥹
This is more than just a fun hobby, this is me taking my life back.
Cancer did a lot of things to me emotionally, physically, mentally, financially 😮💨😂 but one thing it didn’t do was, TAKE ME WITH IT!!!
Blessed to be living this life. This strong, this healthy. Just blessed.
