Love, Food & Beer I love food and beer. Food – like beer – needs to taste good. I know that there are plenty of food blogs out there. I’m not trying to break new ground. Enjoy!

Just like my homebrew, I believe that creation and consumption of food is something that should be enjoyed. I’m not reinventing anything. I just want to share my ideas about food and beer, the recipes that I make, and the places that I eat, because – let’s face it – I love food and beer… and wine, and… you get the idea. In the end, it can’t hurt for me to let people know what tastes good, and to convey that it’s not hard to cook a good meal.

Dreamsicle is a blonde ale from the good folks over at backwoods brewing out of Carson, Washington.
This light and refreshing beer is a blue brewed with orange and vanilla to try to impart the flavors of a Creamsicle. While hints of both do come through it wasn’t nearly as profound as I wanted it to be. At 5% ABV it would be a great one to kick back with on a hot day, but given that it’s getting colder out I don’t think it’ll be back in the beer fridge anytime in the near future. I’m generally a fan of backwoods, but I think in this case I’m gonna stick with something like they’re off grid. Cheers 🍻

Every so often I make what Krystle just called the “kinda fancy filet-o-fish”
It’s fresh rockfish in a panko crust, fried in a skillet and served on a brioche bun with chopped lettuce and a simple - but game-changing - Old Bay tartar sauce. It’s exactly what we both wanted for dinner this evening, but neither of us knew it until it was sitting on the plate. 🐟 🍔 🍻
