Houston's premier w**e event, Iron Sommelier benefiting The Periwinkle Foundation.

The Periwinkle Foundation is proud to announce Iron Sommelier 2021 presented by AUTOSOL will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021. This year, Caracol will play host to Houston’s premier w**e competition and tasting which brings together the city’s most prestigious sommeliers competing for the title of Iron Sommelier.

It is time for our second sommelier spotlight! Today we are spotlighting Michael Sandoval from Miltons.

Let's hear from Michael himself:
"Hello, my name is Michael Sandoval.
Iv been a Houston native for 15 years, and I’m originally from New York City. Houston is the city where I discovered my love of w**e and hospitality. I feel really grateful to have lived in two cities known for melting pots of culture, that have bred world class food and w**e scenes. I've never competed in Iron Sommelier before, but I have wanted to in the past. Excited to get the opportunity to share the enthusiasm I show my guests on a nightly basis on a larger stage!"

We’re officially six weeks away from finding out who will be crowned Iron Sommelier 2026! Over the coming weeks, we’ll be spotlighting the talented sommeliers who will battle it out for the title.

First up is Paul Kirchoff of Paul’s W**e Pix!
“This is my first time competing! Traveling and w**e are two of my passions that I regularly enjoy together. Being shown great w**e by friends brings me joy. In return I am able to share those w**es with others, which doubles my joy. Paul’s W**e Pix is celebrating our first anniversary October 10, 2026.”

Paul's theme is "Ode to Joy: A Joy Shared is a Joy Doubled."

What a night! Iron Sommelier 2025 Presented by Chord Energy drew more than 600 guests who helped raise over $500,000 for The Periwinkle Foundation. Your support strengthens our community of healing for children and families facing cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
