This page is dedicated to support the jazz scene in Houston. There are many flavors of jazz and we are here to promote and support all types of it. A good place to start supporting the local jazz scence are the weekly Jazz Jams which showcase musicians young and old, novice or pro. Four weekly jazz jams and an ever growing number of great weekly Sunday Brunches. Houston also hosts several jazz fes
tivals as well as and regularly host jazz at certain venues that don't primarily feature jazz. Jazzhouston.com has been a part of Houston's jazz community for 10 + years. Primarily most of the information used here is from the site, but sometimes there are some events that Facebook users may promote here first that may slip through the cracks. This is a place to catch wind of these and promote those as well. This page is meant to focus on the more casual active jazz scene where one need not wear formal attire. We encourage Fans and jazz community to post or message any information, videos, or pictures about any these types gigs or events here. This is a place to see and hear pics/photos from events. -Cezzane's (4100 Montrose near Richmond Ave.) every Friday and Saturday is known for having great jazz local & touring musicians.
-Bohemeo's (708 Telephone Rd, Houston, TX 77023) You never know when they will book a jazz event but lately it's been pretty often. Woody Witt Trio is performing the Sunday Evenings 7:30pm the rest of July 2014. Keith Karnaky-drummer plays here often with many special guests. -Khon's (2808 Milam St, Houston, TX 77006) Host Cory Wilson (sax) Jazz Collective on Sundays evenings 7pm. Home of the Wednesday weekly jazz jam starts @ 7pm
-Fedora Lounge (2726 Bissonnet St near Kirby Dr.) Home of weekly jazz jam on Tuesday evenings 8:30 to midnight. Host/pianist Art Fristoe trio opens the evening with a lively set.
-Phil and Dereks (2811 Bammel Lane near the upper Kirby District) Home of weekly jazz jam on Monday evenings and has jazz on Thursday evenings with host T.R. Reed
-Costa's (415 Westheimer #101 near Montrose) Home of the weekly jazz jam on Thursdays with hosts Erin Fisher Wright & Alesha Patillo
-The Flat (1701 Commonwealth, in the heart of Montrose near Rudyards) hosts jazz on select Wednesdays. Check the second Wednesday 9 to midnight.
-Cafe 4212 (4212 Almeda Rd) mostly features smooth jazz/R&B but on occasions also hosts straight ahead or more progressive forms of jazz on weekends. Usually on Sundays or Thursdays
-The Spot Club (1732 W. 18th Street in the upper Heights) Home of the weekly jazz jam on Sunday's 7-10pm. Host Patrick Brink (trumpet/keys)

Supporting Jazz Jams not only helps bring the Houston Jazz Community of musicians together but it also helps to introduce new people to jazz. By attending jazz jams and other unique jazz related events it helps to bring more support & more attendance, and this creates more demand which means more jazz on other nights of the week, which this all leads to a more thriving jazz music scene here in Houston.
