Starting solids is exciting, but many parents don’t realize that readiness and positioning matter just as much as what’s on the menu 🥑🍎🥦
Babies need adequate head, neck, and trunk control to maintain a stable, upright position during feeding. This supports safe swallowing and helps reduce choking risk.
💡Before introducing solids, ask yourself “Can baby stay in support sitting for at least 10-15 seconds?”
And make sure your baby is seated upright in a properly fitted high chair. NOT reclined.🚨
Remember: readiness is more than age. Your baby’s development and positioning play an important role in safe feeding.
