Brett Shaheen is a culinary genius whose name is synonymous with excellence in Denver fine dining. Brett recently left his position of Executive Chef at the Larimer Square restaurant, Osteria Marco. Now, with more than a decade of culinary experience, Brett is ready to share the helm with his friend and business partner Jane. Jane Knauf brings her extensive background in hospitality and food service to The Wooden Table. After more than 4 years with The Magnolia Hotel, a boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Denver, Jane felt that it was time to take a leap of faith, and partner with Brett to breathe life into The Wooden Table. The centerpiece of The Wooden Table is just that; a wooden table. Hand-crafted by Taos, New Mexico-based artist Jeffrey Hills the table is made from Myrtlewood and is the focal point of the restaurant. The Wooden table also features a custom bar crafted from Pennsylvania Cherry, another design by Hills. Hello Greenwood Village!!!

It's a snowy Sunday, but that doesn't stop us from thinking about great food! We love cheese, in any weather, and we have a wonderful cheese plate here, at The Wooden Table! Our cheese plate comes with 3 cheeses of your choice, from a rotating selection. Current features include Alpha Tolman raw cow's milk cheese from Jasper Hills Farm in Vermont, Brillat-Savarin cow's milk triple cream from Burgundy, France, and Glacier Point cow's milk blue cheese from the Carr Family Cheese Company in Wisconsin!

Our cheeses are served with wonderful accompaniments, like Finochetta Salami and Salami Felino, housemade agrodolce, Spanish Marcona Almonds, and, of course, wonderful Ciabatta bread from Trompeau Bakery! And of course we have a plethora of great wines to accompany all types of cheese! A staff favorite pairing is our La Modianese Ruché, from the Piemonte region of Italy!

Trivia! This week it's about cheese! For a $25 gift card to The Wooden Table- What type of mold gives blue cheeses their "blueness"? As always, at least 5 likes and 4 comments, with at least one right answer will activate this weeks gift card!

Hello Greenwood Village!

Looks like winter still has a hold on us, for now. Perfect weather for pasta, and grilled and braised meat! And Super Tuscan wines are the perfect compliment to a colder weather meal! We have seven BEAUTIFUL Super Tuscan offerings, running the gamut from lighter, and more fruit forward, to deep, rich, and earthy!!!

A couple of highlights are our 2013 Avignonesi "Desiderio", and our 2016 Tenuta de Trinoro "Le Cupole"! Desiderio is mostly Merlot, but drinks like a Cab. Deep red and black fruit, with a velvet mouthfeel, and great structure! Our Tenuta di Trinoro "Le Cupole" is quite different. A blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot, it is medium bodied, with great floral, and mineral notes, with dusty tannins. This is a great 'old world wine', for sure. And emblematic of the season!!!

I'm going to throw out a trivia question, because we haven't done that in a while. Here goes, for a $25 gift card to The Wooden Table. - Who coined the term "Super Tuscan"?
