I know I am a little behind on schedule on some things, but wanted to share a few memories I have of Bill Pierce. First and foremost my thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family, and friends who knew him well.

I did not know Bill pierce that well compared to others, but when he came to the Squirrel he always wanted to do the 2 shake of the days and the spin of the wheel. Number 13 ice cream had no bones was his favorite saying (which i still have no idea why he said that saying but was catchy) and number 13 on the wheel.

The last time I talked with Bill was July 14/15th, he came into the Squirrel asking about fundraisers or 50/50 raffles to help his church raise money and if we would be able to help with raffle tickets. He had an idea of doing a pancake breakfast at the church for a fundraiser during the fair weekend in the am and if i knew who to contact about putting an ad in the fairbook. I emailed the fair contact person to get a deadline to add an ad, but did not hear from Bill.. Unfortunately that was the last conversation I ever had with Bill Pierce. He was always kind, respectful, and cared about his church. I am glad he is no longer suffering and my thoughts are with his family and friends.

We want to give a huge shout out and a big Thank you to the Glidden community fairboard Dave, Karen, Justin and Mark for all of the planning, hardwork and all of the countless hours you guys put on behind the scenes to make it work. We also want to thank all the volunteers that helped at the fair also to make the event great all weekend long.

Happy Labor day, we hope everyone had an amazing weekend, the Dead Squirrel will be not resting today on this beautiful monday and will be open 11 am until 8 pm to serve our amazing customers!

We want to thank everyone that came to the Dead Squirrel this past weekend whether you were a repeat customer or a new customer, We enjoyed having you.

We apologize for any delays being served, but we did our best to keep up for the most part. With it being packed the biggest challenge is also trying to keep things restocked to serve you better which also means always going to the back for product and bringing it back up front in timely matter trying to make a path through the crowd of hungry and thirsty customers! We hope everyone enjoys there Monday and as always we thank you for patronizing the Dead Squirrel. 🍺 🍕

We also would like to thank our staff, helpers, and volunteers for there hardwork at the Dead Squirrel!! You guys/gals are rockstars!!

You never know what you come across at the Dead Squirrel at times...... I dont even know what to say. We are open until close the music is blaring, the drinks are cold, and another worker just came in to open the kitchen up. We are ready for you when the music is done at the fair!! Keep rocking it pete!!

On todays episode of lost and found at the Dead Squirrel. We have a Tumbler with a lid that im sure was used for lots of water last night, some kind of hair piece thingy, and cobs of corn?...........

As a business we were happy to see the numbers of people that came to help support our local Fire Department and Glidden Ems. Lots of delicious food, great music and fundraising effort was incredible. Here are some pictures from tonight's street dance. A big Thank you to everyone that attended and donated!

Happy Wednesday! I cannot believe Labor day weekend is upon us already, this year has flown by so quickly. This weekend is full of fun events in Glidden Starting Friday with the
Glidden fire/Glidden Ems street dance fundraiser. Please see the posters below. Just a friendly reminder we will not be serving pizzas on Friday from 4pm to 7pm as we are trying to have everyone support the fundraiser across the street which helps support the community in the long run. The fire department will also be selling beverages until the music stops.

The Glidden Fair is also this weekend and is always a good time. A big thank you to Dave, Karen, Mark, And Justin who spend countless hours behind the scenes to prepare for this weekend for the community. We appreciate your hard work!

DEAD SQUIRREL SCHEDULE!!

The Dead Squirrel Bar will have the outside bar open this year Friday night and Saturday night. Only b**r will be served in the outside Bar such as Busch lite, Miller lite, Coors lite, Budlight, budweiser, twisted tea light and ultra! The inside Bar will be serving mixed drinks and alcohol as well.

Sunday at night time the outside bar will be open even after the live music at the fair grounds. Couple years ago we were swamped that Sunday night after the concert and we are up for the challenge again this year but only to be prepared this time by having 3 bartenders and the outside bar open as well.

Monday we are open from 11am to ?

Tuesday we will be closed

There is also a run/walk fundraiser taking place Saturday am the poster is also down below. It is a great fundraiser to a great cause!!
