Had a great time today talking to the owners of Luxy 13 Hops and some of the Minnesota brewers at the event. A special thank you to Minnesota Reds, Whites, and Brews for the transportation to and from the event. Next year is said to be much bigger, so keep the third weekend in August open and come join us!

WHAT IF BREWERIES SHARED MORE THAN BEER?

Over the past three years, something pretty cool has been happening behind the scenes.

When Bemidji Brewing outgrew the production capacity of its brewery, Fulton had something they needed: room to brew more beer.

What started as a production partnership helped Bemidji Brewing reach new markets without building another brewery.

It also made us realize something.

Maybe the future of independent craft beer isn’t always building bigger. Maybe it’s building smarter.

Today we’re excited to officially welcome Bemidji Brewing to True North Beverage, a new Minnesota-based beverage collective built on a simple belief:

Collaboration can be a growth strategy.

A DIFFERENT WAY TO GROW

The craft beer industry has changed dramatically over the past few years. Independent breweries are navigating rising costs, changing consumer preferences, and increased competition.

While many conversations have focused on the challenges, we believe there’s another story worth telling.

What if independent beverage brands could grow by sharing the resources that help businesses thrive, while continuing to be the brands people already know and love?

That’s the thinking behind True North Beverage: collaboration, not consolidation.

For Bemidji fans, that means more Bemidji beer in more places across Minnesota, while the Bemidji taproom remains independently and locally owned and will continue serving the community that built the brand.

More broadly, we hope True North Beverage creates another path for independent Minnesota beverage brands to grow without changing what makes them unique.
