We had a late lunch at Crosstown, then ice cream with the kids late afternoon. I wasn’t hungry but needed to come up with something. I had Paradise Seafood scallops in the freezer and about a cup of strawberry purée I’d had leftover from a few days ago.

I sautéed some coarsely chopped red onion in a bit of olive oil. Added about 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar—not the good $80 a bottle kind. That would be criminal! Added tablespoon of Maille Ail et Citron (garlicand lemon) mustard. I tasted it and added a touch of French rosemary honey.

Then seared the scallops. I like to start with cold ones so you can get a good sear in the first side. Then turn ‘em over for just a couple of minutes. It’s easy to overcook scallops. And darn near impossible to undercook.

Served with rice pilaf, they were delicious!

The food is so good at these six restaurants, you’d want to go even if their prices weren’t so low.
