Grief is unreal.

This has all been sitting here for almost 6 weeks, untouched. It seems like 6 years, but 6 days at the same time.

I have zero energy or creative spark. It would be helpful to keep up with my art to keep myself busy, but I just can’t. I don’t know what the future will look like, maybe I’ll pick up a new form of art. If I do markets again, I’ll probably have to stick to indoors because it’s impossible to operate the way I did without my partner.

I just don’t know yet. And that’s okay. I’m just sad, angry, and I want my best friend back. 💔

This was the last photo my husband and I ever took together, and I hated it of me so I never posted it. I should have.

Seeing our favorite band live was one of our favorite things to do together. He was so happy. I can see now that he wasn’t as healthy here as he once was, but it makes me so happy to see him smiling.

Many of you might remember him from my markets. He was always my helper, my hype man. He helped me pack the car, set everything up, run to the store for whatever I forgot, kept me hydrated and fed, sold for me so I could go to the bathroom. And he never complained, even on his bad health days. He always showed everyone my work and told them how proud he was of me. He was always showing me off.

I don’t know what the future of my business will hold, but it will be down indefinitely. Maybe someday I’ll pick it back up, and honestly I know he’d want me to. But right now I don’t have the heart or the drive or the will. I have no spark, just pain.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out. My heart is completely broken and I don’t know how I will ever recover, but I do appreciate the love. Rest well, my best friend. 💜

Today my worst fear came true, and I had to say goodbye to my very best friend.

I can share more later when I have processed more, but my heart is completely shattered. Dave was the best person I knew, and made everything in life infinitely better for me just by existing. I knew from the night we met that he was going to be the love of my life. This is the first photo we ever took together, after a few short weeks of dating.

I will share details of any service as I have them, but I need to grieve this tremendous loss until then so please don’t be offended if I don’t respond.

Well, this isn’t the update I wanted to share, but here we are. Unfortunately, I’ve had to pull out of the Summerween market. I’ve been dealing with some issues with my shoulder for several weeks (frozen shoulder? Tendonitis?) and tried to push through it, but if I push it any further I fear I will do long-term damage.

The reality is that in-person outdoor markets (on top of making the actual product) are very taxing on people who have chronic pain and illness, so a shift may be in my future to less of them and more online/in-store. I really don’t know. Right now I’m just giving myself time to heal. Anything I’ve been working on will be saved for a potential future spooky market and to bring to .
