Thurs 9/3 (8-10 PM): Live music from Sammy G & William Matheny @ The Catamount Lounge! Sammy Gee is a 540 VA based folk/punk/alt-country singer-songwriter. With influences landing somewhere between Dave Van Ronk and the Descendents, Sammy is punchy and proudly proletarian, but pretty polite and never pretentious. Mannington, West Virginia's William Matheny began performing as a guitarist at the age of nine, eventually moving to Morgantown to work as a musician-for-hire performing in numerous groups along with releasing an impressive catalog of solo albums. Matheny’s music blends Americana, rock, and folk, often featuring witty lyrics, strong guitar work, and a mix of piano and organ textures.

Saturday 9/5 (8-11 PM): Rock & Roll Night feat. Bishop Van Holtslag and Uncle Bengine & The Restraining Orders! For September only, our monthly H***y Tonk night will instead be ROCK N ROLL NIGHT, featuring the heartbreakers, bootyshakers, and hard driving blues of Bishop Van Holtslag, as well as Uncle Bengine & The Restraining Orders blending punk and rock influences from the underground basement scene with elements from the music born out of the Blue Ridge mountains.
Sunday 9/6 (7 PM): Grown Up Show & Tell (THEME: LABOR)! It's the best part of kindergarten, but add cocktails, competition, and prizes! Every month we announce a theme, and we invite all of you to bring in an object that has a story that ties in with the theme and tell a 5-10 minute story of how it relates to the theme. Three "audience judges" score each person's show and tell, and the winner with the highest score gets a silly prize selected by host Christopher Allen Kenworthy. This month's theme is LABOR: bring in an object that tells a story about work or jobs, about emotional labor, about bringing a life into the world, or anything in between!
Monday 9/7 (7-11 PM): Open Mic Night! Bring us your music, comedy, poetry, magic, storytelling, spoken word, or anything else that can be performed in 15 minutes! Sign up starts at 6 PM (performers must sign up in person) and performances start at 7 PM. Hosted by George Peters.
