Folks, COVID cases and hospitalizations around the county and state are still going up. So MNT@J is going back on hiatus indefinitely. We'll let you know when we're back again, but in the meantime, stay safe and get vaccinated!

Hello all, due to the large surge in Covid cases around the state and county, we will not be hosting trivia tonight.

We are leaving the next date on the books for now, on 8/23, and we will monitor the situation in the meantime.

Hey all,

We think we are going to suspend trivia indefinitely. Not forever, all-time, but at least for the next few weeks.

For the most part, our jobs have become very hectic over the last few weeks, and going into the next few weeks they are only going to ramp up. On top of that, some of our core trivia-goers schedules have changed, and one of our hosts is about to move for the summer. We have had no word from Jameson's or any of our other locations about a timeline for moving back towards normal, in-person trivia.

We love hosting and facilitating a scheduled distraction for our community. We want to do that, but we also want to be distracted and relax with you!

In that spirit, we do intend to keep our Monday evenings bookmarked for a Zoom social. You all know the drill by now. Probably around 8 p.m.

Over the next few weeks, we will look at the progress of protests, Covid-19, and our own schedules to determine when we can resume our regular hosting duties, either virtually or in-person. If you do want your trivia fix, there are now many virtual trivias happening with regularity. Some are even by local outfits.

Hey folks, we’ve decided not to host trivia tonight.

It’s been a long time since we had two straight weeks with no trivia, but it should be obvious: These aren’t normal times. There are a few reasons we made this decision.

On the practical side, as one of us is an active member of the press, it has been a long weekend of work, which has not let up today. Also, there may be breaking news to cover tonight.

But it also seems a little trivial to play a game right now. There are obvious reasons for this, and because of our normal jobs, we have to be careful in what we represent. But there are issues and organizations we feel very comfortable highlighting.

Local newsrooms everywhere are scrambling to provide reliable, up-to-date information on protests, legal actions, Covid-19 updates, and literally everything else, with very limited funds and resources. There are also countless bail funds and community organizations all over the country that are working to dismantle systemic racism and police violence. There are also community organizations dedicated to public health working both in issues related to Covid-19 and injuries sustained during protests going on locally, and across the country.

We may still send out a Zoom Social link to those interested around 8 or 9, once we have a better sense of any potential for breaking news tonight. We will keep you updated.

We will not be hosting a trivia tonight, however we will be hosting a Zoom social, starting at 7 pm. We figure this is in the spirit of when we cancel trivia and y'all show up at the bar anyways.

EDIT: This is still online trivia for now, even though Jameson's has reopened under Phase 1 guidelines. We will continue to monitor how that is going over the next few weeks before we consider in-person trivia again.
