Community Culture:
1. Dancing or connection with another must be consensual. Dancefloor is for dancing, not talking. Conversation on outskirts of room only, or outside.
3. No alcohol before or during dance. No smoking or vaping or drug use in front of venue.
4. No filming or photos. Keep any phone checks discreet. We invite you to be present!
5. Barefoot or socks preferred for safety and grounding. Soft shoes OK if needed.
6. Open heart and mind. This is a judgment free zone. Be your full unique embodiment!

Ecstatic Dance is a free form dance party rooted in Creativity, Connection, and Consent. The intention is a safe, sacred, and fun experience for all! It is a playful atmosphere where we move however we wish with inspiring music from around the world in a journey of tempo and texture mixed by a talented live DJ on high quality sound. Whether solo or partner dancing, we invite deep dives into embodied awareness, coordinated creativity, cathartic release, and collective expression! Dance like no one is watching because everyone is dancing. Whether happy, sad, expressive, or not, all states of being are authentically welcomed. May the music and movement be medicine for all. Altar space is lovingly offered with the invitation to invoke the sacred within.

The Glitter Armada is a collective of artists and creators who want to take over the Universe with LOVE, LIGHT, MUSIC & DANCE. This INTRO TO FLOW workshop will be an introduction to basic moves in FLOW. Bring your favorite (indoor) flow props (hoops, poi, scarves, staffs/sticks, flags, etc.) or borrow some of Britannia’s extra fun toys/ props. She’ll show you how to tap into your playful side and get into the Flow State🤩🎶🤩

Oakland artist Mayvn is an ecstatic dance DJ and wind instrumentalist, with globally focused sets laced with live clarinet and saxophone. MAYVN is Hebrew for ’one who listens’ and her sets are a shared experience. Mayvn DJed Envision Festival, Lightning in a Bottle, Electric Forest, Paradise Music Festival, Same Same but Different, and Unison Festival. Throughout the past 10 years she toured with electronic project Balkan Bump (Red Rocks Amphitheater, Coachella, Shambhala) , Cumbia heavyweights La Misa Negra (Bottlerock, Edmonton Folk Festival) and Balkan Brass Band, Inspector Gadje (Outside Lands). Drawing from music conservatory training in ethnomusicology and performance, she melds rhythms and melodies from many cultural lineages. DJ sets include melodic downtempo, organic house, global bass, and desert beats. Live winds are fully improvised and woven into the mixes, and are shaped by the room’s energy. MAYVN invites you to breathe, dance, and co-create magic, together.

SANJI is a ceremony of ecstatic dance and West African rhythms. This troupe of kamale n’goni’s (rhythmic gourd harp), drumming & singing unites traditional & driving original music that inspires spirited dance & communal healing. Opening & sharing stages with the likes of Sona Jobarteh, Bassekou Kouyate & N’Goni Ba, Snow Raven and beyond SANJI brings a unique living musicality born from living in Guinea & Bobo Dioulasso in Burkina Faso. Studying closely with masters, called N’goni Folas, who hailed from the region of Wassoulou in Africa where n’gonis first originated there is a deep reverence and joy weaved into every live experience.

SANJI is rain. Our music is a prayer for that life giving force here in the Taos high desert. The magic of the kamale n’goni, the interwoven sounds of these African harps stir the spirit. Our dunduns & djembes play to bond with the heart of the Earth & support experiences beyond ones sensory perception. As our voices sing for unity, we are here to share these sacred instruments entrusted to us to all with love.

WARM-UP: A Somatic Journey into Ecstatic Dance
In this gentle, blindfolded warm-up, we set aside sight to make room for the senses that often go unnoticed: touch, sound, breath, the subtle pulse of sensation beneath the skin. Without the eyes leading the way, attention naturally turns inward, and a different kind of awareness begins to surface. It’s an invitation to soften, listen to your body, and arrive fully present before we move into the more expressive, audible journey of Ecstatic Dance. Come as you are. Trust the dark. Let your senses lead you home to yourself, and from there, we dance.

Smiley Coyote dwells in the southwest where the desert meets the mountains. Music has been streaming through his veins since birth. Having been engulfed by the electronic music evolution, he’s been along for the ride since the 90’s. West Coast festivals such as Burning Man, Symbiosis, Lightning in a Bottle and Beloved are what really sparked the desire to share musical journeys through DJing. He’s enjoyed sharing the stage with some of the top producers in the industry as well as performed for many festivals. His musical selections are genre-bending and able to appease most audiences as long as they enjoy a touch of bass. Sharing audible frequencies to the Ecstatic Dance community is his most fulfilling experience however. Being able to craft a multiple hour set on the fly in order to support people’s movement practice truly brings him to howl at the moon.
