Hey, Dunedin residents and business owners, let’s talk. 🍊

Do we need an open container exemption for downtown Dunedin? Do we even want one?

Would you enjoy strolling from bar to bar with a drink in hand? Would it help our local businesses and add to the downtown experience, or create concerns for the people who live here?

Most of all, is it good for our community?

We like to hear what you think and why. Let’s keep it respectful. Different opinions deserve a seat at the table.

🚨 HEY DUNEDIN, PAY ATTENTION TODAY.

At 12:30 PM today, there’s a City workshop discussing how Dunedin could address a possible future budget shortfall.

Here’s what’s on the table for conversation: FOR CONVERSATION- THIS IS NOT FINAL.

🏊 Closing the current pool until a new one is built
🎄 No Old Fashioned Christmas or Holiday Boat Parade
🎭 No City contributions to Chamber-hosted events like Mardi Gras and Wines the Blues.
👥 More than 20 full-time City positions cut
⏳ Updated City services schedules
📚 Library closed Saturdays
💰 Fee increase for summer camps, recreation and community programs
🚒 Potentially six fewer firefighters after the grant expires in 2028
🎅 The Santa fire truck could be sold

These are contingency proposals being discussed, not final decisions.

This is exactly why residents and businesses need to pay attention to what’s happening at City Hall. These decisions could affect the services, events and traditions that make Dunedin what it is.

And this is important: 2027 may only be the beginning. The potential reductions in 2028 could go further.

Watch the workshop. Get informed. Know what’s on the table.
